Rating: Summary: best guide available for planning a trip to Maui Review: A terrific guide on the best of everything in Maui, including hotels, restaurants, beaches, sights, etc. Provides plenty of details and insightful commentary - it's clear that they did their homework. Great mile-by-mile guide for the drive to Hana, directing you to beautiful waterfalls, black sand beaches, flora and fauna. I've used it for two trips to Maui in recent years and it proved invaluable. A wonderful resource for anyone planning a trip to Maui.
Rating: Summary: All you want to know about Maui and more. Review: I bought this book prior to our umpteenth trip to Maui because we wanted to do something different for a change and it seemed to have good advice on off- the- beaten- track accommodations, restaurants, experiences. It never disappointed us. As a professional travel consultant, I now refer to it with regularity to help plan trips for my clients who also want to do something "different" on the island. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: No pictures.....a picture is worth a thousand words Review: I was immediately disappointed to see that the book contained no pictures of Maui...none!
Rating: Summary: Maui Review: This book has a great clor map and online travel directory.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME! A must have book if you're traveling to Maui. Review: Traveled to Maui for our Honeymoon in January 1999...the Frommers 1999 Maui guide gave us the scoop on the entire island. Because of this book we learned all about the hidden waterfalls and took pictures of awesome "off the beaten path" paradise spots on the road to Hana. We now buy Frommers books for all of our vacations!
Rating: Summary: A very good book on Maui. Review: We just returned from Maui, having taken the family there for 8 days. We also took 3 guide books, so I was able to compare all three books in real time while on the island. We disliked Fodor's book, but found Frommer's to be very good. The information is well-organized, up-to-date, and very helpful while on the island. But the best of the tour books was: "Maui and Lana'i : Making the Most of Your Family Vacation (8th Ed)" by Early and Stilson. This is the book I recommend.
