Summary: A traveler's dream: what to see, where to eat
Review: This book was invaluable to us on our most recent trip to Ireland. This is a conversationally-annotated guide to 20 places of natural and historic interest in the West of Ireland, including such places as the Burren, Ceide Fields, and Inishbofin. The author gives some history, some personal anecdotes, explicit directions, and even lets you know when to break your trip and find one of the pubs or restaurants nearby that he has enjoyed. He thoughtfully includes a recipe from each, such as that for the delectable garlic mussels prepared at Moran's Oyster Cottage in Kilcogan. If you are planning a trip to the west of Ireland, or if you would just like to try preparing some of the dishes you could eat if you went, this is your book!
