Summary: The only resource I really needed!
Review: Fantastic! I think Karen saved me hundreds of hours of research time and hair pulling. All the contact information, stunning write-ups, all true to their word just made everything so easy from booking the room to getting our documents in order. The itineraries made our trip unique and special. I can't wait to start on next years trip with Karen Brown's Guide to Switzerland!

Summary: Outstanding! The Italian inns were charming and delightful!
Review: I traveled to Ravello, Florence, Rome, Venice, and Cinque Terra and stayed in a 'Karen Brown inn' at every leg of the trip. The descriptions were perfect. Any chance of writing a similar book for the Greek Isles?

Review: My husband and I used Karen Brown's "Italy: Inn and Initeraries 2000" to plan our honeymooon in Italy: Venice, Florence, Chianti, Capri, Rome and Positano and I'm so glad that we did. The descriptions were accurate and she has very good taste in hotels. There were no surprises, we got exactly what we anticipated and in some cities more. In Rome, the Hotel Barocco staff was particularly nice and upgraded us to a room with a balcony at no extra charge. At Le Sinenuse in Positano, the staff was also very nice and the hotel is unforgettable.

I'd recommend this and the series to anyone. I'm using the Italy book again for this summer's vacation.

Summary: This is useful for listings and phone numbers.
Review: On our recent journey to Tuscany and Umbria, we resorted to the book for two places to stay. One was a castle, a marvelous place, but without signage. Either the actual location, as described in the book, was right and the 1,200-year-old castle had been moved in the night, or, more likely, the book was badly off, by miles. The second described, in gushing terms, a family-run former farmhouse near Rada, where we and another couple from Philadelphia independently reached the same conclusion -- that they were indifferent, at best, and wished we wouldn't bother them. Our hosts kept the downstairs hideaway, a library and sitting room, off limits to all guests, even though it was delightful (as written in the book) and ready to use. We wonder if the hosts treated the reviewer wonderfully, but our experience had little resemblance to that -- nor that did of the two other Americans we'd never met before, and with whom we compared notes afterwards.

Summary: Would not travel without it!
Review: This book made my trip to Italy as romantic as I had hoped it would be. - Of course being with the man of my dreams helped. We stayed at two different locations recommended and they were just as charming as described. I do think that the service was even better than we expected but it was "off-season". I will look for a Karen Brown book for my next trip. Hurry Karen and make a trip to Egypt.

Summary: Travel Your Dreams with Karen Brown
Review: Visit fascinating and perfectly preserved monuments and ancient buildings or conquer the tremendous mountains and magnificent ski slopes that tower above. The miracles of Italy are these treasures and the warm, gracious people who inhabit the villages and cities.
