Rating: Summary: Absolutely Best Series of Guidebooks Ever... Review: The LÃmite Visual series of guidebooks is absolutely amazing. I have never found any guidebook ever that provides all of the information you can find in these BEAUTIFUL BOOKS, which are so lovely that they are worth owning even if you don't plan on traveling to the places they describe. Most guidebooks fall under two categories: the useful type that only give information on hotels and restaurants, with very little information on the sights except to tell you which ones to see, and guidebooks which provide information on the history behind the sights you are seeing once you are in the location. This guidebook is definitely of the second type but is vastly better than all others in that it provides lovely, detailed maps of cities and regions, very thorough information on all the places of cultural and historical interest and VERY in-depth information on all of those sights. For isntance, this book does not merely tell you to go see a church and then give a basic rundown on its history. Instead, it provides the full history of the church, a description of all the most important pieces of art inside, anecdotes on events that occurred in the church and more, if there is anything else to say! And it does this not only with churches, but also with plazas, restaurants, cafés, buildings, palaces, mansions, parks, beaches and monuments. It is a must for anyone who is truly interested in knowing about what they are looking at and not just taking it in superficially. This review is on the Cuba book in the series, but there are also titles on Toledo, Santiago and Galicia, Andalusia, Madrid and other locations, mainly in Spain, where the books originate. You can find the titles in English and Spanish, though they do not all appear to be available on Amazon. If you are coming to Spain, you can find them in English and Spanish at most mainstream bookstores.
