Review: Thank you for the introduction to Bavaria. I am traveling there September 23rd, landing in Munich to meet all my relatives. After reading your book I am more excited than ever. This is my first trip abroad and because of my relentless pursuit of my family, I am being entertained by them and they are hosting a family reunion. We are starting our tour in Munich and then traveling to Erlangen and Nuremberg. From there we will head north to Russelsheim, Lambsheim, Schwabenheim, Leipzig, Hamburg, Goslar and finally to Kiel. My relatives are spread all over Germany now. I have rearranged my itinerary to include sights mention in your book. My cousins in Erlangen said I will enjoy it very much.

Summary: How the book was created.
Review: This book started out to be a simple outline to record our visits to Oberammergau for my daughters Tina and Kimi.

In the process our memories of people, places, customs, events and food overwhelmed the outline format and it developed into a book. As one reads about our love affair with this village it will become clear why the simple outline never had a chance of survival.

It is a joy to share with everyone the fantastic decade we experienced - and continue to experience.

Summary: enchanting
Review: This is a book for anyone who loves to savor times with family and friends, and cherishes those memories dearly. It is not only a glimpse into another world, and the lives and customs of a small town in Germany, it is the simple story of a father, mother, and two girls and the experiences they shared together.

A warm-hearted tale you will not forget easily. This is a book to be read by a cozy fire, with a cup of hot chocolate, and in your favorite chair. You will want to go back again and again, and share it with someone you love.

Summary: a valentine to Oberammergau
Review: This was an interesting, well-written book; it's obvious that Mr. Crivellone and his family love Bavaria/Oberammergau, and it was fun to read about their adventures there. The book is also a helpful guide for anyone planning a trip to this region of Germany.

Summary: Made our entire vacation!
Review: We were about to take our first foreign trip to Germany with our young children. We knew we wanted and needed a "home base" but had no idea where! Then we read this --- we ended up booking two weeks in an Apartment in Oberammergau from someone Don mentioned in the book. We found that reading this before we went gave us a different perspective on living, even temporarily, in a foreign country --- from the "Barvarian Pudding" produced by the town's cows to the friendly people of Oberammergau, this book helped make our vacation into an unforgettable adventure. It really helped to make us feel like Oberammergau was our home. We can't wait to return. Thank you for helping us discover this special place!

Review: Whenever I get nostalgic I find myself something new on my second home (Germany). I am one of the lucky ones that is able to return twice a year. My wife is a German National, but has been here for twenty years. We have a home in Baldingen, a 10 minute walk to the walled city of Nordlingen on the beautiful Romantic Road.

Your writing is so compelling that I can put myself in Ogau in a flash.

We love Berchtesgaden, Garmisch and the Fussen area. Naturally we have many friends there and they love to visit with us here in Georgia.

Hopefully next year we can live in our house for 6 to 12 months.

For anyone wishing to see the best part of Europe....start in Bavaria.

Thanks for the memories.

Review: WOW! I just read your book, it was great. Last visited Oberammergau in 89. We plan on going back in 2002. Thanks for the memories. Our planned trip won't be until 2002, but we've already decided to change our plans from 2 nights at the General Patton Hotel in Garmisch to one night there and 2 nights in Oberammergau.
