Summary: Thank you!
Review: I bought this book when I arrived in New York. I want to let people know that I used it when I went downtown and it was great, and when I got back to the Port Authority and had a few hours left before starting to go to my plane, I wanted to put my luggage somewhere safe. I saw Hillary Davis' telephone number inside her guide and called her. She was fantastic. She told me where to put my luggage to be safe for a few hours and made me feel better. What a nice lady. I couldn't believe she was there on the phone with me and giving me help and advice. She made my experience as a visitor to New York very special.

Summary: A kaleidescope of information
Review: It's a travel guide, yet there's a tremendous amount of fun in reading it because it covers facts that people don't know about and the author feels like a friend, a real person. It's definitely not like reading a normal travel guide with the phone book approach. This one is great reading, funny, and very personal. I never knew Lower Manhattan was the birthplace of America. And I am ashamed to say I never knew George Washington was innaugurated there. I had a great meal at Roy's and might have bypassed it without ever knowing. I read a lot about 9/11, but to read this perspective on it in the chapter on visiting Ground Zero, I saw it in a different light, through the author's eyes and emotions, since she was there. It's all these personal things that make this guide so great.

Summary: Great Guide!
Review: Up to date, funny, entertaining: as a businessman visiting NYC downtown I picked up this guide and was surprised at how valuable and also how nice to read it was.I found my cigars pronto, tried Ms. Davis' suggestions of the John Allen Club and Golf World, and proceeded to also take her recommendation for where to dine, which turned out to be a super choice.
