  Summary: What a Lovely Read!
Review: I confess that this is the first Maeve Binchy book i have read... but it certainly won't be my last! What a beautiful story -- and believable characters! The story just flows along and one gets totally involved in the lives of the different characters from the first page. Each chapter is dedicated to the description of a charcter and their lives - which enables one to remember them. As the story moves along, it's interesting to see how they are all connected in some way. One actually cares about them and their lives! Unlike many authors I have read, Ms Binchy does not seem to rush to end the book (in order to get it to her publisher!) -- but all the threads are drawn together to culminate in a believable, well thought out and satisfying ending! It is a totally FEEL-GOOD book and i can recommend it to all.

  Summary: Satisfying
Review: Once again, Binchy weaves the lives of the most unlikely characters together and it comes out beautifully. I particularly liked the set-up of one character being the center of each chapter; it shows where the threads of other lives mingle, overlap. If you're looking for comedy, drama and romance, it's all here.

  Summary: One of the best...
Review: I must stress that I never cry at the ends of books. But with this one, I just couldn't help it. It wasn't so much that it was sad,but moreso that the book was ending at all. I really cared about each of the characters. Bravo, Ms. Binchy!

Summary: Marvelous Meave at her absolute best!
Review: Oh, how I adore these Irish love stories... Ms. Binchy is an author of extrodinary talent and insight. She seems to always have a way of surprising me and turning the plot in the least imaginable way. The most remarkable thing about this book is how, in her classic style, she brought 20 or so characters together and so keenly intertwined their lives. You can't help but smile when you realize how the intimately the strangers are connected. This story is pure joy. With all the horror in life, sometimes you need something that can make you feel good. And what's wrong with that? Evening Class... A happy book.

Summary: As touching and heartwarming as going home.
Review: Binchy narrates the happenings of all her characters with such detail and wit that I grew fond of them. I was sorry when the book ended. The author definitely knows how to touch the hearts of real people. It is funny and very familiar at the same time. I loved it!

Summary: I wish my "Evening Class" had been as rewarding as Binchy's.
Review: My interest in this novel came as a result of having taken an Italian language class. I could not put the book down. I laughed, I cried, but in the end I was filled with joy. Binchy leaves you feeling that with persistence, you can arrive at a peaceful resolution in your own life. Truly inspirational, a catalyst for the creative mind. I ran out the very next day and purchased seven more of Binchy's books.

  Summary: Excellent summer reading.
Review: Maeve Binchy continues to write wonderful character-weaving stories. Although I thought the beginning of this book was not interesting it didn't take long for it to catch my attention and I soon found that I couldn't put it down! The characters are all unique and individual, and their inner-relationships to each other as the story progresses makes for an enjoyable story line.

Summary: The Evening Class has enriched my life!
Review: Discovering a new book by Maeve Binchy is like getting a suprise present! I love all the characters in her books and the way they come to life on the pages. I find that I actually care about what happens to these people, and think about them in their day-to-day lives. I was born & raised in Scotland and have never been to Ireland, but my grandmother was Irish from County Cork. I get the feel of what it must have been like growing up there - not very different from my own experiences and nostalgia reigns. I am always sorry when a book of hers comes to an end - I feel like I am losing touch with some new friends! I think if Maeve Binchy and I ever met we would become friends, too. I hope she keeps on writing - I look forward to each new edition that is published. Thank you, MB!
