Summary: Very disappointing!
Review: "A Midnight Clear" was a shallow read. The story was a bit confusing when character names were brought in that had little to do with the plot of the book. The suspense was NOT. Don't waste your money on this one.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Katherine Stone Does It Again!
Review: A Midnight Clear takes you on a emotional roller coaster. You have an tear jerking past for both characters and you want them to succeed and be together. I like that Katherine Stone is doing seriels. I keeps you in touch with the other characters.

Summary: A DELIGHTFUL , SPARKLING CHRISTMAS STORY
Review: FROM THE BOOKCOVER: For him, love was a nightmare. Haunted by memories of a Christmas Eve inferno, trauma surgeon Jace Colton guards his solitude as fiercely and as passionately as he tends to the desperately ill who need his care. For her, it is an awakening. Julia Anne Hayley's memories are lovely, not haunting, a billowy cocoon in which she has hidden from life, from living, far too long. But now her cherished sister is gone, and at last she must dare to fly ... Now they both need a miracle. They have 6 days, 6 nights, in London. Their time together is like a snowflake; delicate and perfect, it cannot last. Jace must leave to help the victims of a terrible war. And when tragedy strikes anew, Julia and Jace must hope for the magic that comes only on A Midnight Clear.

If you are interested in a quick, mainstream read, this is not the book for you. A MIDNIGHT CLEAR is written like poetry; you have to actually think as you read. It was awkward for me, at first, to get into the flow of the text, but once I did, sometime into the 2nd chapter, I was literally enchanted. The beauty of this book will stay with you long after you've finished it.

Summary: Soooo emotional
Review: Get ready to cry, and to care -- and when you're finished with this terrific book, read the wonderful sequel, Island of Dreams.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: depressing
Review: I am an avid romance reader, but this story left me depressed, I like reading a book and when I am done I feel happy, glad, but not sad. This story line was good but NOTHING in this story was upbeat. I normally pass my books on to friends, but this one is going in the trash.

Summary: Great book. Read this and get into the holiday mood!
Review: I cared so much about these characters. Trust me, you will too

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good Story...But Not Plausible
Review: I don't believe for a minute that a sensible mother with a young daughter would invite a teenage boy, a COMPLETE STRANGER, to live in her home unless she REALLY knew him well.
A lot about this book was not believable but that didn't prevent it from being enjoyable.
KS's characters (in all her books) are always complex, compassionate, intelligent ... and troubled. In this, she is unbeatable. No one else gives as much depth to fictional characters.
I do wish Jace and Julia's love life would have been a little more detailed, however.
And (the reason for 4 stars), I wish KS wouldn't make those characters recovering from illness or accident SO sickly looking. I get it that they've been ill, I don't need it that explicit to where the characters look "skeletal" or have "paper thin skin", that sort of thing.

Summary: A book written with love.
Review: I spent an evening with a box of tissues and 'A Midnight Clear'. Finished the book, but kept the warm glow inside. Page after page of discriptive writing about unbelievable love and joy. A must read for everyone at Christmas time or anytime.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Disappointment
Review: I usually enjoy this author's books, however A Midnight Clear is nothing but schmaltz. The story is a bit unbelievable and slow moving.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Romance, suspense, and a surprising touch of magic
Review: Jace and Julia prove that even the most broken life can be healed when love comes from the heart. From their remarkable first meeting on an airplane to the magical blessing of the season, they journey from darkeness to hope and healing. Told with sincerity and authority, the story kept me up clear past midnight. I loved this book--don't miss it!
