  Summary: let's not worship weakness
Review: Coming from a family of stong women, I am ashamed to have read this book. Its glorification of female weakness is deplorable. Even worse, so many women seem to admire these characters that hate their children, get drunk, and have no meaningful relationships with their husbands. Here's hoping my generation will turn this trend around.

Summary: What happened to the action
Review: As I am in grade 11, I would not have chosen this book. My mother lent it to me because I was in desperate need of a book for my ISU. As I started reading, it was great, I couldn't put it down. But, about half way through it, the action just stopped. What happened. The book became a bugger to read and I began dreading picking it up every time I had a few minutes in class to read. Right now, I am in the process of writing my essay on it. The topic is getting acceptance from your family. If this is the type of book you enjoy reading, then I say you'd love this book. Otherwise, this book sucked.

  Summary: Timeless Femme Fun
Review: I scanned through the reviews of this book. I was actually stunned by the logic of the few NEGATIVE interpretations. I have to assume that these readers didn't connect with this book because they couldn't "relate" the the connection that the Ya-Yas had. Though these women came to age thirty years before myself(and my "ya-yas"), I could totally laugh, cry, relate, and feel a sensuality to similar situations and conflicts that these gals had! Grand Haven Girls Unite! Let me know if you need help on the film! Great READ!

  Summary: Yawn-Yawn sisterhood
Review: If you liked the first book, don't buy the sequel

  Summary: Touching
Review: Pretty good book. Fun language, interesting characters, lots of warm comfy ambiance, good story. When Wells delves into armchair philosophy it gets a little trite and schmaltzy, but overall worth a read.

  Summary: Gotta love the Ya-Ya's!
Review: Thank you Ms. Wells for reminding me of all things Southern that I both love and hate. Having grown up on the Gulf Coast of Texas, now living in the great Southwest, this book made me long for fried catfish, wrap-around porches and yes - even humidity. God bless the Ya-Ya's!

Summary: this book just dragged on.....
Review: i forced myself to finish this book, with lack of anything else to read currently. i just kept thinking 'who cares! '.... the characters are completely unbelievable, completely boring; and the plot goes nowhere very slowly. honestly, did people really enjoy reading this! don't waste your time!

Summary: It may be a "bubble-gum read," but it's message is profound
Review: This is a wonderful book to curl up with on a cold day, under a blanket (or on a hot day by the pool-- take your pick.) Rebecca Wells' great descriptive language will make you yearn for the summer days of your childhood, and go out with your girlfriends (and move to Louisiana.)

Summary: good for me to poop on
Review: This book was really awful. I am a college professor at a midwestern university and I can truly say that this book was awful. Don't waste your time on such tomfoolary!

Summary: If you read just one book, make this it!
Review: Rebecca Wells Ya-ya's are the best friends we've always wished we had. The characters come alive as does the scenic depiction of Louisiana. A close knit bond taking Caro, Necie, Teensy and Vivi from childhood to adulthood and beyond. I bought 5 books to give to MY best friends and my sisters and mom. The best book I've ever read..I laughed and blushed and cried. If you're a woman...it's your duty to read this!
