Review: I loved this story! It tells of the life of an immegrant woman at the turn of the century. She rises from the slums of New York to become the wife of a house painter turned real estate marvel. Through the great times and the depression she keeps her ideals and her family together. This book also tells the heart wrenching story of her children and their obstacles. In the end, Mother knows best. If you're the relative of a Jewish immegrant - a must read. If you just love love stories - a must read. I reread it every summer in the green.
