Summary: Quickverse Essentials Version 7
Review: I purchased this Bible study tool as an upgrade from version 6. It contains more resources than the previous version and is as convenient to use as before.
For the money, I doubt that there is a more powerful Bible study resource available!
If you purchase this resource as an upgrade, please delete the previous version before installing this one. In my case, it did not install well over the earlier version -- whenever I tried to do a search, it looked for resources from version 7 AND version 6, causing an error. I deleted the whole thing and reinstalled with excellent results.

Summary: Outstanding bible study package
Review: It is very unfair to compare this $35 entry level package to someone elses $150 package! I have owned every Quick Version since it was a DOS program (with the exception of version 6, when the company was owned by Matel and Broderbund; BAD times for Quick Verse!) Now, they are owned by a new company, and are back to their core expertise; bible study! I have the deluxe expanded version, and look forward to version 8 next month.
NOTHING makes bible study faster or easier than Quick Verse. Whether I am preparing a sermon for Sunday service, writing a daily devotional for my dial-a-devotion, or doing my daily bible study - Quick Verse outshines every other bible study package I have ever used - and I have used most of them.
Reading a verse and hit a word you don't understand? Click - and the dictionary explains it. Find a place you are not familiar with? Click - the interactive bible atlas pops up a map and shows you where it is. While on the atlas, you notice a place you had not heard of before - click it and you are back in the Bible again, showing where that new place is written about.
You will find yourself more absorbed in bible study than ever before, and there is the only possible drawback of this program; you will absolutely spend more time in it than you intend!
And you can expand this as much as you could ever desire, utilizing STEP books to add on to it.
I give this my unreserved FIRST PLACE endorsement.

Summary: This Is Not Like The Original Quickverse
Review: Sadly, I cannot rate this highly. First of all, there is no DVORAK capability. (For those who don't know what this is, this the keyboard that has more efficient placement of keys for faster typing. The old QWERTY keyboard was developed to SLOW down typist who constantly jammed mechanical keyboards. This does not apply to us anymore with electronic keyboards, and hence, should no longer be taught in typing classes).

Secondly, with the first Quickverse (for Windows 3.1) it was very easy finding verses, texts and Strong meanings all at one time. It was really easy and fun. I expected enhancements in this version, but found everything now is topsy-turvy, confusing and inefficient. It's a pain now to go to different menus, check boxes and windows for every little verse, text, search, books and Strong word meanings. Part of the search box even blocks off the titles of the books you need to search making it difficult to choose quickly. Simply put, this version of Quick Verse is not fast to use anymore and downright annoying, and to top it off I have to peck my keyboard with one finger since there is no DVORAK conversion. You will also be doing a lot of switching to different windows as this version seems to put every different thing into a window.

There is no warning on the box that it is not DVORAK capable.
I might add that this version, of course, adds more books too and may explain some of the complication. Still, there is need to change the basics of how it should work.
