Summary: You wanna write, or do you wanna read the instructions?
Review: After trying out a couple demos for the leading formatting software, I couldn't stop working on Screenwriter. It was so easy to use, and fun, I ended up writing a 40 page script on the demo. The other demos demanded I spend the time learning the software before I was able to start writing, what a bother!

Screenwriter frees you up to let the ideas flow, it's like having a secretary who thinks you are so brilliant he will take care of all the annoying details for you and even predict what your thinking. Screenwriter will also rib you about procrastinating if you wonder off to play with the preferences.

I love choosing the actors to read my script out loud, and the storyboard feature.

Defiantly the software to get if you want to enjoy writing.

Summary: Movie MAGIC Screenwriter
Review: First of all I took a whole day (24 hrs. can be a lot to me) comparing this screenwriter to all the others through tech. sites, etc. At first Final Draft was looking like the runaway favorite, and I am sure F.D. is great. Just like Indie movie's however, big budget does not always mean big success. Secondly, I received the software and the "The Screenwriter's Bible" in 2.5 days. Time counts when your old formatter has given up its last line, and it wasn't a funny line either. If you can use MS Word you can use this software. Only suggestion is when making the decisions it asks you to make during installation: take your time.

Summary: Excellent font performance.
Review: Further to my last review of this product the most significant feature in comparison to Final Draft 6.0 is Screenwriter's flawless font rendition quality as a page is scrolled up and down. Unlike Final Draft, Screenwriter re-draws the page without a horribly smudged, or raggedy line look., which takes repeated scrubbing up and down with the mouse to correct.

So, for a more pleasing screenwriting experience, Screenwriter 2000 is a better choice.

Summary: Highly Recommended
Review: Great for writing screenplays, teleplays or any work of fiction. Keep track of characters, move scenes around, and be able to register your work with the WGA immediately. This software came highly recommended by screenwriter friends and writing workshop instructors. The free book, The Screenwriter's Bible, is the perfect companion for this software.

Summary: Best screenwriting software for PC ever!
Review: I bought what is now Movie Magic Screenwriter way back in version 2 when it was called ScriptThing. Since then not once have I been required to pay for an upgrade and the functionality improvements have been amazing. So I went from 2 to the current 4.73 all on from my original purchase whereas a friend of mine with Final Draft has had to routinely pay for upgrades at each version number.

It makes the formatting a breeze. Most of the changes in formatting are done simply by hitting tab or enter at the end of a line. And all the formatting is completely customizable. So you can decide what you want to bold or caps if you like making your writer's drafts a little different from standard.

It also imports from a bevy of other formats extremely well. So if you have screenplay's you've already written in Word or Word Perfect it's no problem.

You can have it print your screenplay to PDF, collaborate with a fellow screenwriter online, use the index card view to outline and plot out your screenplay. It's awesome.

Whenever in the past I encountered bugs and reported them to tech support they've been quick to respond and I've seen the problem fixed in free updates.

Try the demo, unlike Final Draft's Demo it lets you save so any work you put into a screenplay won't be lost when you decide to buy Movie Magic.

Summary: This IS the latest version!
Review: I must apologize!
This IS the latest version of Movie Magic Sgreenwriter! The paperwork I received told me it was 4.5 and I didn't open anything else until after I heard from the manufacturer which took awhile. They told me I could get upgrades so...
Today I opened the cd wrapper and found it to be the newest version. Don't ask me why it wasn't labeled earlier?
Anyway this is the latest and I apologize for earlier comments.
Cheers, By George

Summary: Top Screenwriting Program Avaliable
Review: Movie Magic Screenwriter is by far the most helpful, easy to manage screenwriting program on the market. I have used other software such as Final Draft, and have found that Movie Magic is by far the best. It makes formatting your script as simple as possible, offering a wide variety of templates, such as television scripts, motion picture scripts, etc. It also helps you organize your characters and makes it easy to find certain scenes with it's variety of tools to help you manage the script. This program is definitely worth the money.

Summary: good product
Review: Movie Magic Screenwriter is the first screenwriting software I have used. I think that it is a good product, and user friendly. I crank it up everyday, more than MS word. Only problem is the voices don't work.
