Summary: Great features and value
Review: I have used Canvas since version 1.0A on the Macintosh. These days I use version 7.0 with Windows 2000 on a Pentium III 750. I've had a love/hate relationship with Canvas for many years. It does the best job of any program I know of combining bitmap graphics and vector graphics. It's wonderful for putting text on top of paint objects and integrating bitmaps into complex CAD-like drawings. I love the way I can type in dimensions of objects direcly. Some of the new "sprite effects" features in version 7 are very impressive. However, I'm always running into bugs and minor flaws. I would give Canvas 5 stars, except that it's always frustrating me with little problems, some of which have taken years to be fixed, or still aren't fixed. On the whole, given the price and features, I recommend Canvas in spite of the bugs. I've used PhotoShop, Illustrator, Quark, PhotoDraw, and dozens of other graphics programs, but I always come back to Canvas.

Summary: Life must be hard without Canvas¿
Review: Imagine if you could combine the functionalities of Photoshop, Illustrator and QuarkXpress in one single program, then you would have a truly unique graphic platform. This is however exactly what Deneba Canvas 7 is all about. You have full control every aspect off vector, bitmap, text, web and layout. You can even apply normal bitmap filters to any object with the use of SpriteLayer and SpriteEffects.

I have used Canvas 7 for some time now I can honestly say that if I ever have to choose between Canvas 7, Illustrator, Freehand, QuarkXpress or Photoshop I would take Canvas. It has made my life more effective and less frustrating - two qualities it is hard to find in any other software product. It also makes me more creative because I can focus on my work instead the program itself - it is so easy.

Life must be hard without Canvas...
