Summary: Taos Image Finder -initial impression.
Review: I have been using image database programs for quite some time. Since Taos Image finder was new it perked my interest.I will admit that the GUI is very pleasing and if you have a newer high quality video card you will be impressed with the programs abilty to display and adjust pictures in real time. One area where the program falls short however is in search ability. I was not able to consistantly have the program find what it should doing various searches of an 8,000 picture plus database. This included searches on file size, file name, and hotword entries which had been made prior to the searches. Using two other programs of the same type and the same picture collection produced perfect results each time. In my opinion this program shows much promise. If the internal database and search engines are improved it would truley be a class "A" piece of software.I look forward to future releases to see how this application progresses.

Summary: GPU Power
Review: This is one slick application. If you own one of the bleeding edge graphics cards, like the GeForce FX or 6800, and you wanna take a game break or you think your graphics card is not being exploited enough, then this is what you need to throw at it. Photo managemnent with a fluid neat user interface. And it's not just the GUI, it actually has some nifty features not found in other similar apps, like the ability to pick a color and find all images having that color or the ability to pick an image and find images that are 'similar' to that. But by far, the coolest feature in this app, is the ability to perform color correction in realtime in fullscreen! That is just sweet.

I don't know why Amazon is charging 119 bucks for it, when on their website (www.taos3d.com), it sells for 99.
