Summary: Great Buy.....More Than Just A Lens Cleaner
Review: After pouring over all the DVD/CD Laser Lens Cleaners here, that vary quite a bit in price, I took the advice of the last reviewer who said they all work about the same, so for the price this one will do the trick. So thanks "an electronics fan from New York"..You were right. The"Memorex CD/DVD Laser Lens Cleaner" cleaned and restored the performance of my DVD player(which is also a CD player), and more. It has 6 little brushes on the disc designed to remove dust and other small particles that may be lurking on your laser lens after hours of play. This ensures a crisp/clear playback.

What the buying info here on the product page didn't tell me, was that seven "Quality Tests and Optimization Tools" are also included on this terrific little gadget. The whole process between the cleaning and the tests took all of about 5 minutes. Once the nice voice told me my lens was clean it instructed me on making sure that I was getting optimum effciency from my set up.

The tests included are 1.Stereo Imaging and Channel ID Check-checks set up of left and right speakers. 2.Polarity Test - checks positive/negative set-up. 3.Sweep Test - will let you know if all your speakers are working correctly. 4.ProLogic Imaging- checks your surround sound. 5.System Balance Check -adjusts for optimum volume levels. 6.Rattle Test - checks for vibration during low frequency emissions. 7. System Purity Test -checks for unwanted interference. If your system doesn't "pass" any of these tests, "the voice" will also tell you how what to do to correct it, or will tell you that your system is at it's optimum level. It will also advise you on how often to clean your DVD player.

I love this thing! It's multifunctional, reusable(keep it stored in the case it comes with), a good brand name and the price is right. Go for it....Laurie

Summary: Worked perfectly
Review: I own a Sony 2001 SCD775 CD/SACD Player. Until recently it would play any burned CD's perfectly. During the last several months, it would refuse to recognize burned cd's at all most of the time. This problem seemed to be dirt, as burned cd's are more difficult to read than regular cd's. This Memorex CD/DVD Laser Lens cleaner worked quickly and restored my CD player to perfect working condition for burned and regular CD's. Give this CD cleaner a shot--it's definitely worth the money!

Summary: Worked perfectly
Review: The product states that it works with CD-ROM, DVD-ROM products. The audio portion didn't work with either my desktop or my laptop. Worked just great with my DVD player and stereo system, though.

Review: This works beautifully. In 00:1:40 it cleans the lens. It does other things, too, but I only need it for cleaning. It worked for my DVD-RW drive and also for my computer's CD/DVD drive. Easy to use!

Summary: Audio CD only, no video DVD encoding.
Review: This wouldnt play at all in my DVD player, the menu never came up and it wouldnt even detect as an audio CD for some reason. It did, however, work great with my CD player and even allowed to find out my speakers were out of phase which I easily corrected by reversing the positive and negative leads for one of the speakers.

I'll be looking for another cleaner for my DVD player as this one seems to be made more for audio and has no video features as far as I could find.
