Summary: No Plant Elevation Capability
Review: Don't buy this product unless your yard is totally flat. You do not have the ability to elevate your plants therefore they end up below ground.

Summary: Can't get accurate
Review: every time you put in a measurment it needs to be even numbers for sraight walls and odd numbers for angled walls. it has a predetermined space alotted for doors and windows. if you already own a home and want to remoldle this is not the software for that. you can however design from scratch but end up with limited options for a cookie cutter house.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A few limitations, but better than the rest
Review: First I tried Broderbund total 3D home. Big mistake - I'm still waiting for my refund. Unless you want square, pre-designed rooms that don't connect, leave it on the shelf. Then I tried Punch 5-in-1. Within a half hour I had an entire floor design complete, with the dimensions I wanted, something the other brand didn't even support. I added a basement, second story, roofs, stairs, etc. easily and accurately.

Downsides: the topography tool is somewhat limited, and a custom roof feature would be a big plus - but it's so much better than anything else out there (in this price range) that I gave it 5 stars.

Summary: Just Don't
Review: I bought this program awhile ago, and I absolutely hated it. I no longer have it. It crashed constantly and although it had many good features (landscape, exterior, decks, interior), it was difficult to use...and yea theres plenty of better programs out there

Summary: Just Don't
Review: I bought this software to replace an old Visual Home software I have had for many years. I will probably uninstall Punch and re-install Visual Home because Visual Home is much easier to work with. Also, my old software has much better kitchen and bathroom fixtures, furniture and at least offers more garage/shop items to place in the model. The only advantages to this Punch software is the deck design and the fact that you can design additional floors over the first floor footprint. I have not gone as far as using the furniture workshop and the RealModel--I don't think I will waste my time. This WAS NOT money well spent.

Summary: I'm very impressed!
Review: I have now tried 4 different home design programs. From Sierra to Broderbund to Data Becker. After reading the reveiws for Punch! programs I decided not to purchase any of them. That was a waste of money for me. I tried 3 programs and still was not satisfied. Finally I looked at the Punch! box again and I thought this really can't be as bad as people say. I was right. It does every thing I need from interior to exterior to landscaping, and gives me more option for customization than any of the other. I paid $... and sent in for the $... dollar rebate. Next time I will not read the reviews of amatures before I buy.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I used an older version of Sierra before we built our addition and loved it. Lost my cd & couldn't find another so I bought this. Maybe some features are better but many are disappointing.
The accessories selection is poor and the "walk-thru" feature much less flexible and difficult to use.

Summary: Wow! Easy to use and powerful
Review: I'm really impressed. I just poped the CD into the drive;installation came off without a hitch. In half an hour I had sketched out my home's layout, done some basic landscaping added a deck and made a quick 3D tour. All this without touching the manual! Another half hour later and I had colored walls, furnishings standard and custom. The tools are really straight forward.

Summary: Punch 5 in 1 Home Design
Review: I've been using Punch Products for about two years now. Prior to that I tried many others without sucessfully completing a home design secondary to being too difficult, not having the tools needed for certain functions, and poor, slow, cartoonish renderings. Punch! was the first program that allowed me to complete a Home!

I've read the reviews and some of what was said related to 5 in 1 is partially incorrect. Walls that move in even numbers is related to the default when the 'snap to grid is on'. All one needs to do is shut the 'snap' off. All doors and windows are customizable to any size, height, width, and trim. All roofs are customizable to pitches other than 12:12. None of the walls shrink when moved separately or as a whole. I've used this particular program for 6 months before ugrading, and 90% of what I've read in these reviews in incorrect secondary to a person's lack of knowledge and inability to make use of tools available in the program.

This program is a great starter program if you're looking to buy anything for less than $50. Since then I've advanced to Punch! Super and then to Punch!Pro, which is only $25 more than '5 in 1'. As mentioned I've tried all sorts of programs over the years, and none of them contain all that one needs to design their home, however, Punch!'s products are the closest yet in focussing on people's requests and producing quality 3D views. In addition, the 3D furniture workshop is a bonus in itself where alterations, and creativity can be performed to create stunning objects for the home, and alter any that require adjustments for better fit. What more can I say? Punch! is far superior in comparison to other programs of the same cost!
