Summary: and what about Pitch/Setback?
Review: Hearts is the one I knew to begin with, but PITCH/SETBACK won me over. I never played that game before and am amazed I could learn it this way--but I did. And I'll never stop now. Get this game because you get both great games, the interface is great, and the ability to play solo or with others online is fantastic.

Summary: Entertaining at all levels
Review: I used to think I was good at Hearts. Then I played this game online and was soundly trounced. I won't name names, but I'm sure you'll want to meet the experts yourself once you get ahold of this game. You can choose to play solo or online, and you can even host a game without using the FreeVerse server. I've found the online community (when I want real oponents) friendly and entertaining. The ability to change rooms, characters, and vary the bots' abilities keeps this game from being boring and repetitive. The game itself can be as entertaining as the family games of my past. I love the FreeVerse approach to card games and love this game, even when I lose.

Summary: Big fun for pitch players
Review: I was pleasantly surprised after discovering the Freeverse community. Not only have I found lots of good Pitch and Hearts players, but as a bonus I found players with a sense of humor. Unlike some sites where the lobby talk can get fairly nasty, this place refuses to put up with any swearing or bashing of any kind.Kind of a nice environment.
I recommend Freeverse as a great place to find tough and amusing opponents.

Summary: Hearts, Spades, Pitch (Setback) Wow!
Review: If you like the idea of playing games online with a friendly group of people then any Freeverse card game and an internet connection will bring you to a fabulous place to play. Unlike the randomness other places you can play, you play with people you get to know (and like!) and the level of conversation is always adult, but not vulgar. The graphics are great and the fun never stops. If you like card games, how can you go wrong for $20? Think of it as two pizzas, but these game will last a lot longer and bring you a lot more pleasure and fewer calories.

Summary: Great gaming fun
Review: Never have I gotten so much out of $20. The people online are great and fun to play with, especially that guy Broham, and you are always able to find a game with people playing your game. Possibly the best part is that the server is FREE, meaning after you pay $20, you can play online all you want.

Summary: no more flate on-line card gaming
Review: Sure, we all know that on-line card games can be addictive and fun..but it has finally been given a face that's fun to look at! With lots of different rule variations, customizable characters and real time play with people all around the world, you can shoot the moon 24 hours a day.
Will your work life be more productive? Probably not, but your on-line time wasted will at least be done in a cool environment

Summary: Freeverse 3D Pitch is a well done implementation
Review: The 3D Hearts/Pitch pack will keep a Pitch or Hearts (or both) player busy for many hours. Beginners can play against the computer to learn the rules and then the strategies for these games then go online with the included GameSmith connection software (built into the game) to play with real people all over the world. The game really shines when able to play with others via GameSmith. One can play with or without offleading, partners, smudge, smudge wins all etc... and these games both support a choice of puppets, 2 of which, allow you to put a picture of your choice in their head. It is easy to chat while playing or out in a lobby trying to get a game going. Cards are social games and this product plays this up and delivers.

Summary: A Great Way to Play Hearts
Review: Who knew when I plunked down $20 for 3D Hearts Deluxe so many years ago how many hours of fun were in store for me? Freeverse Software's 3D Hearts Deluxe offers several common rule variations, computer opponents of varying expertise, and playing with people from around the world via Freeverse's GameSmith server. The CD also include 3D Pitch Deluxe.

Most of Freeverse's card game titles share the same basic card-playing engine and thus provide by far one of the best user interfaces for playing cards on a computer. You and your opponents are represented by puppets and appear seated around a table. The cards in your hand are clearly laid out in front of you. An optional score pad shows the progress of the game and the hand. And when playing against human opponents, a chat area appears at the bottom of the window so you can also enjoy the essential social aspect of playing card games.

3D Hearts Deluxe, however, has its not-so-minor problems, two of which I mention here, which is why I'm giving this title four stars instead of five. First, a complaint common to most computer games: the computer opponents, or bots, do not play particularly well. While they may be adequate for learning the basics of the game, they are lacking when it comes to the finer points of strategy, skills which separate the decent player from the expert player. Second, the program does not allow salvaging a network game by substituting another player or a bot for a player who drops out in the middle of a game. This can prove to be very frustrating when a hard-fought game has gone on for close to an hour only to end prematurely because a player's modem disconnects him or her from the internet.

Freeverse is actively developing the 3D card games series and plans to address these issues in future updates, which will also introduce more player-suggested rule variations and improvements to the user interface. In any case, the drawbacks are far outweighed by the hours of fun you will have playing games or just chatting with other people from around the US and the world. Freeverse has fostered the growth of a community relatively free from the rude and obnoxious players that commonly hang out on services like Yahoo!'s. Provided you have internet access, free access to the GameSmith server is included with the games.
