Summary: Barrels of Disappointment
Review: There's no word to describe the disappointment I felt when I played this; there's not even a sesquipedalian, to my knowledge, that can aptly convey my chagrin. The Simpsons are such a wonderful thing and I thought I would get to partake in their fun, but instead I got to observe as they pass me in the street and rummage through their drawers while they're out. Yes, this was somewhat amusing, but overall a let down. There are mini games and some items to collect to access other areas, but that's as much activity as this game offers. The graphics are good, the voices are the same as the show's, and there are some nice things here, but the difference between what I expected and what I got is as big as Texas.

This is not an adventure game or an interactive episode of the Show, but it delivers what the packaging describes: a Virtual Springfield. You can walk around some of the town and read the descriptions of items but you will not transgress the role of observer.

Summary: As Mr.Burns would say,'Excellent'
Review: A great game game with excellent graphics, perfectly capturing the essence of the town of Springfield.Obviously not as funny as the TV show but still entertaining. As a Simpsons fan,it's great to wander around the streets of Springfield, visit Simpsons landmarks such as Moe's,the Kwik-E-Mart,the Nuclear Power Plant and come meet all your favourite Simpsons characters. Great fun,but may not appeal to non Simpsons fans.

Review: A very good game, obviously not as funny as the TV show but still captures the essence of the town of Springfield. Now you can roam the streets of Springfield, meet all your favourite characters and visit Simpsons landmarks such as Moe's Tavern, the Nuclear Power Plant and the Kwik-E-Mart. Great fun but may not appeal to non Simpsons fans, though.

Summary: Not much to do.
Review: All you really do in this game is look around Springfield and run into the occasional character. I finished the entire thing in less than 2 hours. Plus it is not very vivid or deep. You can only visit 2 classrooms in the Springfield elementary school, there is only 1 angle of Moes bar etc. All you really do is LOOK at these locatons that we are already familiar with and have the tiniest little bit of interaction with them. Plus the geography of Springfield in this game is not the same as the TV show. Which is also inconsistant in it's placing of many "sets". Moes Bar has been in many different places for example. But, then again, in the HOMER BECOMES a garbageman episode, the town was moved to another site. Perhaps this is where it got all shuffled up.

There are a few little (and I mean little) games included. One of the main games is to simply find hidden baseball cards. A ploy to trick into clicking on the screen and revealing slight animation.

In total there is just under 25 minutes worth of animation here and it is cool that the original cast provided the voices. But unless you are a Die Hard Simpsons fan then I would leave this game be. Definitely only for younger kids.

Summary: The Wonderful World of the Simpsons Alive on Your PC!
Review: As a die-hard fan of the "Simpsons", I love anything and everything that has their image on them. After purchasing the rather disappointing "Simpsons Cartoon Studio" I decided to purchase "Virtual Springfield" and see how much more different it was.

What I got was an incredible game that allow the user to explore the town of Springfield as if you were walking through the streets with a virtual reality helmet on. While the game features excellent graphics and sound, and plenty of humorous characters and scenarios, I was only disappointed that the game manual wasn't too informative on how to collect items, especially the series of trading cards that are hidden throughout the town. Besides this minor fault, the game is great for adults, and it would probably be a bit difficult for young children to maneuver around the town using a mouse.

All of Springfield's humorous and wacky denizens are here, and some of the places where you can actually visit inside (e.g. the Kwik-E-Mart; Simpson's home; Flander's home) are hysterical and entertaining to the fullest extent. If you are a die-hard Simpsons' fan, then this game is for you. I only wish I could learn how to collect and use most of the items/clues that I need to complete my mission.

Summary: Fun for the first 5 hours. After that - boring.
Review: First of all: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS YOU ARE A HARDCORESIMPSONS FAN. If you are not, you will be completely bored. This isn'tactually a game - it's a guide thru Springfield. The graphics are good and the sound is OK, but there is not real gameplay. I found myself bored with this game 3 days after I bought it. Buy at your own risk.

Summary: Fun.... for a little while.
Review: I am the first to admit, I love the Simpsons... but, this game, after about two weeks gets to be the same old. Yes, there are plenty of things to do, but without a real plot, the game begins to bore even the greatest Simpsons fan.

Summary: Waste of money!
Review: I really, really wanted Virtual Springfield. However, when I got it I realized to my utter dismay that it was a complete rip off. Ok, it is fun to shoot up in the quickie mart; Virtual Springfield has no point or end. One just roams around in Springfield and after a while even Springfield gets to be boring.
