Summary: In a word: Addictive
Review: The enchancements R6 Rogue Spear, over the first, make this sequel a winner. The graphics are superb, the sounds are spectacular and the upgraded AI isn't gonna make it easy for anyone to just waltz by blazing their guns. It's not another "shoot-em-up" a-la Quake genre -- not even close.

Here you have to seriously plan out your mission to be able to survive and accomplish your objectives. The settings are nicely rendered and really are a treat. Throw in the ability for free Internet Multiplayer +PLUS+ all the (free) add-on's (Weapon Mods, Modified Maps, etc) and you've got yourself a sweet game that'll have you sitting in front of your PC for hours. Summary: Years of fun. Literally.
Review: I got Rogue Spear on June 28, 2001. I'm writing this on October 9, 2002. The Rogue Spear CD has hardly left my drive in the past year and a half, and probably won't for some time.
The thing about Rogue Spear is that it somehow manages to be addictive and frustrating at the same time. You could find yourself playing a mission over and over all evening without ever winning, when all you need is a change of approach.
The game takes place in two stages. First you create a detailed plan. If you aren't the sort who likes that sort of thing you could just use the default ones. You have absolute control over eight operatives -- from their uniforms to the ammunition in their secondary weapon.
Then you go in and start shooting terrorists. The action is simultaneously fast and slow. You walk around at a realistic pace and can't jump around like in other shooters, but when you see the target, whoever fires first lives. You don't have extra lives, or powerups, or anything of the sort. If you take a round in the head, you generally die. If you take one in the leg, you limp about.
There's a good amount of kit to choose from. There are plenty of uniforms, and you can even define how much body armour you and your teammates wear. You have a fair choice of weapons. You carry a primary -- a submachine-gun, assault rifle or sniper's rifle -- and a pistol. All guns are realistic (for a computer game, anyway) and accurately reflect what you see in the hands of soldiers on TV :). You also carry two 'special items' -- grenades, flashbangs, ammo -- that sort of thing.
Gameplay isn't just running around shooting things. If a single hostage dies, you lose. When an operative dies, he doesn't come back for later missions.
Another nice feature is the mod system -- not as refined as the one in Rogue Spear's expansion pack 'Urban Operations' -- but at least it extends the replay value.
Rogue Spear is, basically, one of those game that you should feel stupid for not having played all this while. You can get games with better graphics nowadays, but you ought to pick this up anyway, because the gameplay -- both singleplayer and multiplayer -- is the best I've seen to date.

Summary: Classic!
Review: The first online game I played was Rogue Spear. This game is so fun. Of course there is higher technologys and better games now, but this game is still one of my favorites. It's a great fun doing the single player campaign and this game isn't a sleezy game where is takes 10 shots to kill you. This game is realistic. You get shot once in the arm, you are inqured and slowly dying, you walk slower and all that. You get shot through the chest or head, you are dead. It's not letting you get a whole MG round to the chest and survive like other games.

For any military lover, this game is and will always be a fun game

Summary: Very Impressive!
Review: Sequal to the 1998 Action Game of the Year, Rogue Spear is a perfect mix of action, espionage and stratagey. The game picks up with your team, Rainbow, trying to stop the terrors that roam the world. You select from over 25 memebers to create your team, and than select weapons and outfits. You can also plan your own attack, but I found it funner to use the pre-made plans. Once in the heat of the action you can switch between teams, which carry snipers, assualt and electronic experts. In 1 player if a memeber dies, he is no longer accesible. Missions range from a stranded 747 to a TV station. The replay in the game is unbelivable. I got it the day it came out and still have even MORE fun playing it. Each time unlocking new stratagies and tips. There are a variety of modes ranging from lone wolf (just one character) to terrorist hunt. The game plays out like the Tom Clancy films, "Clear and Present Danger" and "Patriot Games" and if you pay attention to the films, even has some of the same charcters. Graphics are superb and sound is amazing. If you crank up the speakers, the game contains moments of absoulutely no sound, to Matrix style shoot-outs. The suspense is amazing. The game uses little music in gameplay to amplify the sound of footsteps and gunshots. When you've been playing a mission for 30 minutes trying to beat it, and you barely escape a sniper, the thrill is amazing. And to later get shot by a terrorist in the shadows is a crushing defeat. If you pick this puppy up, I gurantee it will become one of your best friends.

Summary: AWSOME GAME
Review: If you liked Rainbow six, yo will love Rainbow six: rouge spear! It has 18 new fun action packed missions. it also has alot of new guns to help complete your mission including a couple sniper rifles. The new sniper option is really helpful in the succes of a mission. for example whn i was going into the room were the hostages were a sniper shot the two guys that were about to kill the hostages. There are also new modes you can play in when you beat a mission. You can play: Lone wolf: you are alone and terrorist are scattered around the area. you must kill all terrorist. terrorist hunt: same only with a team. and a bunch more(you can only play these games that i just mentioned when you have installed the Rouge spear mission pack: Urban operations. you can play only play those games when you beat the mission)! there are all new multiplayer maps. You should buy this game if you like Rainbow six or other games like it. ( it would be a great holiday gift!). HAVE FUN

Summary: cool game
Review: Everyone who likes shooters should buy this game IT'S SO MUCH FUN
AND EASY TO BEAT. Even if you are bad at this game you can use codes like god or invisibility. Like you need codes it's already easy enough. But isn't sniping, recon and raiding missions awesome. I gave this a 4 because it's to short, needs better graphics, more enemies in levels, and it needs to be less messed up. Watch out the replays don't work sometimes it says your killing tangos even though your shooting at a wall!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: If you thought Rainbow Six was good...
Review: This has to be the most amazing game I have ever played. The graphics have been greatly improved from Rainbow, and there is a much more realistic feel to it. The smallest details will blow you away. At times you feel like you're in Rogue Spear and you could be shot any second.

From the New York Museum of Art, to a 747, to an ancient Persian fortress, you will be completely immersed in the game. I personally could not stop playing it. Even after you beat the campaign, you still have the option of playing Lone Wolf, in which it is you vs. 30 "tangos", or Terrorist Hunt, where, somewhat like lone wolf, you face 30 terrorist, although this time you have your normal team of 8 operatives.

Everything in Rogue Spear is unpredictable. I can't tell you how many times I failed a mission because as I was approaching a hostage, he got up, yelled, "I can't take it anymore!", and ran off into the middle of a firefight. The terrorists are even better. They are much more real. They'll call out when they see you, use cover when guns start going off, and try to ambush you.

Ten new team members are also included in Rogue Spear including four from the novel. There is much more variety in the area of personel. Like last time, there are Assault, Demolitions, Electronics, and Recon specialists along with a new speciality... SNIPERS! These guys are so useful on missions!

Another new feature is the replay mode which allows you to watch either a failed or completed mission, see what you did right or wrong, save it, and send it to others over the net.

Overall, this is the greatest game I have ever played, and I recomend it to everyone. The WORLD is in danger again, and only YOU can save it.

Summary: Help! I'm addicted! Can't stop playing this game!
Review: This game is the best real life simulation combat game I've played (well not 100% realistic but it's as close as it gets, i guess). Actually it's the best game I've played, period. I tried Rainbow 6 once but didn't like it: too complex and took too much time to plan and set up a mission. This one is awesome: missions are already planned and all you have to do (if you want) is just plunge in the action. On the other hand if you like you can reject the default plan and come up with your own. Moving around is soooo much easier than with rainbow 6: you can move crouched and peek around corners and these are both great enhancements. I use them a lot and saved my posterior in more than one risky occasion. And of course there's "terrorist hunt": you can replay a mission with thirty baddies around and no hostages: it's the ultimate shootout-hunting match. It's worth every penny it costs! GOOD JOB GUYS!

Summary: Best Game That Is Out There!
Review: Rogue Spear is the most packed action PC game that I played yet. It takes you misson by misson, saving the hostages and killing the terrorists. I have to explain how awesome it is!

There are new places you get to travel around, at the airport, in buildings etc! See, its much better when you play online to tell you the truth. Meet new people and even play with your friends. Go one on one with each other or teams. Get to pick out your own weapons and gender and even vote which level to go to. This is pretty much like Socom on PS2.

Im a girl and I think its still cool even if im not a guy. This is NOT waste of your money.

Summary: Great game
Review: Along with Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament, this is the only major PC game I've ever gotten into. I enjoyed this as much as the other two. I also have the Urban Operations add-in mission pack, which adds a ton of other scenarios, and is definitely worth getting too, and well worth the price. This game also didn't load down my computer, and worked well performance-wise on my then new system (purchased in Jan. of 2000) although I only had a minimal 4-meg video card in my PC at the time. I have a 32-meg GeForce 2 at this point with the two crossbar memory controllers, quad cache, lossless Z-compression, fast Z-clear, and Z-occlusion culling visibility subsystem, which still isn't quite good enough to do Unreal Tournament at anything but the lowest resolution settings, but it's still a nice-looking game even at that level. For that you'll need a GeForce 4, which has twice the number of crossbar controllers and other more advanced architectural features. Anyway, not to wax too nerdy on the video tech specs, but Rogue Spear is a great game, and the best thing I've seen in the urban ops and urban terror category.
