Summary: Excellent idea, but NOT an excellent game...
Review: ...The idea of building my own casino is great and the packaging looks attractive enough, but don't be fooled.

While building the actual crap, poker, and blackjack tables, hiring entertainment, and the ability to customize the look of your casino are the only good parts of this game, and the rest of the game is terrible. One thing I look for in a sim game is the first person view. I love the possibility of walking through my own creation as a customer. In Casino Tycoon, the first person view is really just a camera behind someone's head. That person's head blocks the view and you really cannot see anything in first person view. Also, when adding rooms like bars, restrooms, and janitorial/maintenance/security, your space runs out quickly and you waste a lot of time finding the right spot to build those rooms. Strike 2. My biggest complaint is when people get heart attacks. Although my first aid rooms are in place, they do not help at all. When I see the message that someone is dying of a heart attack, there is no way to tell where that person is in your casino. As a result, all the victims die because the game gives me no method to find those people. Then, I get sued. Very frustrating. I mean, you can look through the security cameras and find the crooks very easily. Why couldn't they do this for heart attack victims. Strike 3! One more annoying thing about this game is the entertainment. I think it is really cool how you can hire entertainment. The entertainers sing, dance and do magic. However, if I am lucky, only one person will walk into the theatre and watch the entertainer. And that person leaves after ten seconds. So watching an entertainer perform to a totally empty house is not appealing.

Besides those things, the game is cute and is fun playing for a few days, but then, it just gets boring.

Summary: Save you money
Review: All I can say is save your money. This game is horrible. If you're looking for a casino game I'd go with Casino Empire much more realistic and much better game play

Summary: Pack A Lunch For This One
Review: Casino is a game that can be become very addictive and the time will fly as you become involved with building the best casino. It is best to start with the SANDBOX game and learn the game before taking on any of the challenges. The graphics are excellent but the music can become a distrubance while you are trying to concentrate, so either turn off the music or turn the volume down. The game is best played at the highest screen resolution your machine can handle (the lowest resolution should be 800x600). Hint - Update your entrance as soon as you can afford it ($10,000) and build a first aid room (to treat your customers that get heart attacks (or you will find that all the money you earn goes to the wrongful death law suits).

Have fun!

Summary: Great Game, Lacks A Little
Review: Casino Mogul Is a great game. Lots of stuff to build. THe only problem is that after your casino is fully built, and your raking in the dough, there's not much to do.

Summary: Almost...
Review: Fun, but don't expect anymore that what you see on the box. The limitations of play are similar to those of Tropico minus the eye candy. I'd wait for this one to end up in the bargain bin before purchasing.

Summary: Cool Graphics and concept, Awkward Input
Review: The graphics and concept of the game are great. Its fun to control a casino. I got about 6 hours of fun out of the game, after that I feel like I experienced everything the game had to offer. Once you learn the secret to controlling heart attacks and criminals, the game is very predictable. All of the scenarios are basically doing the same things.

The main drawback to the game is that the input is very awkward and downright annoying. The mouse takes a 1/2 second to respond to clicks so many fast clicks are not recognized (Windows 2000). This makes it necessary to do everything slow to avoid missed clicks. Most of the actions don't have keyboard shortcuts and require 3 to 5 clicks making play downright annoying. Its frustrating because you know the company spent lots of time on the 3D graphics and all the different slot machine options; but then they totally dropped the ball when it came to making a usable input. Why do I complain so much about the input? Well it would have been fun to layout the perfect casino with everything just the way I want it, but the input is so annoying that it takes all of the fun out of playing.

Summary: Good Graphics. Limited Appeal
Review: This is a game with good graphics, but limited growth and appeal. If you're spoiled by Roller Coaster Tycoon, don't expect this game to even come close. The graphics are crisp and upscale. But the game is slow to progress and confusing to control. The documentation is poor and the user is left to trial and error to figure out what's going on. Signs and symbols aren't explained well. The game appears to offer plenty of options, but the user has no idea what they are or how to use them. Expect high frustration levels that cancel out any enjoyment the game can offer.
