Summary: A Great Game, Not Extraordinary!...
Review: "Britney's Dance Beat" for PC is very fun! It's "Dance Dance Revolution," Britney style! Unfortunately, the game is way too short. Plus, I personally think software users were jipped of concert footage, compared to Playstation 2...

First off, you pick a dancer. Next, if you aren't confident in going to the first audition yet, there is a dance studio in which you can practice. Once you feel comfortable with the game, it's off to the first audition. You are auditioning to be a back-up dancer for Britney on her upcoming world tour. Each time you clear a stage, you unlock a backstage clip in the Video Vault. Starting off, you must make it through three auditions by hitting your arrow and spacebar keys to the beat of Britney's hits, which include, "Slave," "Overprotected," "Stronger," "Baby, One More Time," and "Oops, I Did It Again." If you pass the auditions, you move on to three concerts, still playing by rhythmic hitting of the keys. If you successfully complete the six stages, you get to compete with Britney. Aside from the main part of the game, there is also a Britney Quiz Section where if you answer enough questions correctly, you unlock an additional clip (there are nine in all). Also, there is a Free Play Section where you can make up your own moves to show to friends and family...

I thought the game was good, but WAY too short! I completed it within a few hours, and was left feeling disappointed. I also felt that even though the PC version has two remixes and a Free Play Section that the Playstation 2 version doesn't have, I was jipped. The backstage clips might be okay for mediocre Britney fans, but for a die-hard fan like myself, they were cheap. They basically show Britney goofing around in rehearsals and playing around with her tour crew before the shows, etc., which was pretty cool. But, the two concert videos ("Slave" and "Overprotected") were fom her HBO Concert Special, which I've seen non-exaggeratively one-hundred times! To me, the least they could've done was show concert videos from a different show! That's why I think the Playstation 2 version would be better because they get a lot more! They get the backstage clips AND five ADDITIONAL concert videos FROM DIFFERENT CONCERTS OTHER THAN THE HBO CONCERT SPECIAL! To make matters more depressing, you can move the camera around and zoom in and out. I guess I'll be getting PS2!

Summary: Pretty Good!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: ...The graphics aren't as detailed as they are on the Playstation2 version but they are good enough. The Britney trivia was quite hard. Though the game was great, the video quality was not all that great on this game. This has more songs than the GBA and PS2 versions have. This game has two remixes that aren't availible on the other versions. Still though, the best version of this game is the GBA vesion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review: Although i'm a huge fan of Britney Spears, but honestly, this game is really boring and preety bad.... i can finish playing this game in 2 hours !! Everything level is nearly the same, except the dancer standing next to you and the background music. If you're a britney fan, i know you really want to buy this game, but.....think it very clear !!

Summary: Like, this is the *worst* game everrrr... (next to Survivor)
Review: I admit I'm not a huge Britney Spears fan. I do, however, like the rhythm-challenge games like Dance Dance Revolution so I figured this would be along the same lines. I couldn't have been more wrong.

First off, and reason alone not to buy this game, the game has absolutely no timing in relation to the songs. Maybe the programmers just don't have any rhythm, but I find this unbelievable. It's better to just turn off the volume and punch away at the arrows keys as listening to the song is more a hindrance to the game then a help.

Secondly, the game doesn't get any harder as you go along, plus it's the same dance steps whether you're on the first level or the last. I was able to beat it in less than an hour.

Third, the graphics really aren't that good - even of Britney. Speaking of which, when you do make it to the end where you're supposed to be dancing alongside her, she's usually off the screen so you don't even see her anyway.

Fourth, there's no difference in any of the locations whether you're auditioning or "supposedly" in concert. It's just this strange looking dance floor with a screen flashing one of her video clips in the background. No crowd, no band, no stage lights or anything. The only difference is as the level is loading you see a photograph of the Eiffel Tower while Britney says something like, "Check it out y'all, we're in Pay-ris." Speaking of which, I didn't realize Britney sounds like such a redneck in real life. How come the accent somehow disappears when she's singing? I smell a scandal the size of Milli Vanilli in the works.

Finally, you figure eight locations, eight different songs, right? Nope! Instead you get to suffer through "Slave 4 U" twice (which from what I understand is the song even Britney Spears fans hate the most). I think there's only five songs total. The rest are remixes of the same songs.

So what's the reward for suffering through the same dance steps and the same location eight different times. Well, each time you complete a level, you get a key to see a 2 min clip of Britney getting ready for a concert. Well slap my face and slop the hogs! Too bad you usually don't even get to see Britney. A lot of the clips spent more time photographing some big black guy and some balding white guy. Probably her managers - I guess they needed their fifteen minutes of fame too. The clips you do see of Britney, she's usually saying something profound like "I'm crazy. I don't know what I'm doing", or asking probing questions like "Where's the golf carts at?"

But wait, there's more!

You see, in order to open the "final" video clip, you have to endure a series of thought-provoking trivia questions such as what Britney's favorite cereal or color is. I'm ashamed to say I endured this test of knowledge (it took me longer to finish this than the game itself). For my trials, I was rewarded with a 2 min video clip of Britney performing a song in concert. It actually wasn't too bad, but I couldn't help but smirk when they flashed a clip of her bending jail bars with her rear end.

If that's not enough, the game won't even uninstall properly using the Add/Remove Programs function. Instead you have to run the setup program off the CD. It doesn't even give you the option of reinstalling the program, it just uninstalls. I guess they knew I'd never want to install it again.

So that's what you get. For what it's worth I gave this game to a twelve-year-old and she didn't even like it. Britney Spears fans would probably be better off with a video of one of her concerts. D.D.R. fans would do good to avoid this game altogether.

Hope the review helped!

Summary: Lots of fun
Review: I bought this for my daughter and i'm the one sitting here playing it. We are big Britney fans in our house so that alone makes the game fun because you get to listen to Britney songs and watch some videos. Auditioning to be one of Britney's dancers is challenging, but lots of fun. My daughter hasn't gotten to see the game yet because i installed it when she was sleeping and now I'm anxiously waiting for her to get up so she can see it. She's going to love it! I highly recommend this game!

Summary: Nothing like the PS2 version
Review: I have seen screenshots and videos of the Playstation 2 version and was excited about getting the PC version, which I assumed would be mostly similar. I never buy game systems and didn't have a PS2. I was highly dissapointed when I got the game home. Don't get me wrong...it's not a bad game, it just pales in comparison to the PS2 version. The graphics and video clips are horrible quality, unlike the PS2 version which has superb graphics. And the way you play is different too. The circular thing that looked like a radar is gone and has been replaced by arrow blocks that fall from the top, along the side like tetris blocks. The game is too easy, and lacks a lot of the features the PS2 version has. A major letdown for me was that it didn't support controller input and that the video in the background, the keys, the moves, and the music weren't in sync. You have to completely ignore the beat or it will mess you up. I actually know some Britney dance moves and these aren't it...at least not in the right songs. There are Baby one more time moves in with I'm a slave 4 U. The different rating for moves such as: good, perfect, and miss are nowhere to be found. To top it off, the girl speaking doesn't sound anything like Britney at all.
