Summary: Improving a legend!!!
Review: For those who have not played Yahtzee:
The goal is simple a player rolls 5 dice (three consecutive times) to develop a "hand" based on poker rules. For instance, three 6's = 18 points or 1,2,3,4,5 = Full Straight. In each attempt you get to choose which dice to keep or put back in the cup for another roll. The wonderful thing about Yahtzee is that even though it is a game of playing the odds, luck plays an enormous part in this game, thus even a new person can destroy an experienced player with just a little luck.

For those who have played Yahtzee:
You will love this game because it is more than you have ever played before. There is the original game, plus 4 modifications.
Yahtzee - the classic version
Triple Yahtzee - Essentially 3 cards of Yahtzee on one card, with multipliers (1x, 2x, 3x)
Painted Yahtzee - A mix of colors and numbers are used here.
Battle Yahtzee - After your rolls, your opponent gets to roll INTO your dice!!!

This game has been an absolutely wonderful addition to my collection of games (nearly 100 and counting!). My wife and I play it whenever we travel...and sometimes just to be able to sit back and be a little competitive.

The sounds are excellent, the music is not terribly annoying, and the 5 different types of play keep things fresh, so you don't get burnt out too soon.

This is one of the very best values out there, period.

Summary: I am addicted to this game
Review: I used to love playing the board game version of Yahtzee and the computer version has me hooked! My 6 year old son, my husband and I have a family competition every night before bed. We are all vying for the High Score Board.

Summary: Great fun and challenging
Review: I was introduced to Yahtzee through Hoyle Board Games. This version is fun and exciting. It includes five different versious of the game. It works well in single or multiple player mode. The instructions were a little vague for some of the versions, but once you play them for a while you get the gist. The colors are great as well as the action. I recommend this for the whole family. Just remember, unlike the Hoyle Board Games program, you will need the CD in the drive to play all the games, except the classic.

Summary: Yahtzee ! Fun for the Family!
Review: My son and I spent an enjoyable evening playing the demo version of Yahtzee that I received through a magazine subscription. The graphics were very easy on the eyes,(for which I was thankful, having spent my energies on ten hours of work...)The colors used were pleasant and soothing, as were the sounds that accompanied the game. Tired as I was, I found myself pleasantly relaxed. My son persuaded me to play the first game; I suggested playing the two games that followed. We had a lot of fun! We had so much fun that I decided to purchase the Ultimate Yahtzee. Yeah, YAHTZEE!!!

Summary: More dice throwing fun for the Yahtzee addicted.
Review: This CD-ROM comes in an attractive reddish and gold package, with complete and clear instructions. Installation is quick to get you started playing right away. The graphics are a little fuzzy, but are nice, with pleasant colors. The music is great, different tunes play depending on which version you are playing. The Classic version dice sound effects are closest to the actual sound of thrown dice, but the sound of dice shaking in the cup are the same in all variations. Scoring is a snap, as potential scoring sections are revealed in grayed-out numbers in their respective spots after you roll. All you need do is click in the desired section.

Everyone will want to play the Classic version first. It has a nice, green felt area to toss your dice, scoring is just like regular Yahtzee. Triple Yahtzee was actually a game in stores, but was discontinued and lives on in this version. It has the best music, but takes longest to play. You must score in each of the 13 scoring sections 3 times! Painted Yahtzee is the most unusual, but is very fun. and just like its name implies, very colorful! Pyramid Yahtzee seems like a nod to D&D players (like me), using four-sided pyramid dice and different number combinations to roll for. Battle Yahtzee is my least favorite, but provides an interesting way of playing; knocking out your opponent's roll in hopes of improving your own score. This variation is geared mostly for two players or more. This collection of Yahtzee games provide an interesting selection for the Yahtzee fan and will appeal to a wide variety of tastes. It seems that Yahtzee fits in many aspects of gaming pleasures. Will a Yahtzee-themed casino program for PC/Mac be far behind? (Please!!!) If you love Yahtzee, you will love this CD-ROM.
