Rating: Summary: European Air War Review: Sounds fun. From what i've seen the graphics get 4 out of 5 stars. I just hope you can fly the P-38 fighter.
Rating: Summary: This Sim is a Landmark, the Gaming Press & Sim Fans Agreed Review: The above review, (while the reviewer is entitled to his own opinions of course,) does not reflect the critical acclaim won by this simulation generally. To me, and many others, It still stands unchallenged as the best WWII air combat simulation to date. With a second patch (V 1.2) available which improves it even further, plus the two excellent freeware programs ('Enemy Coast Ahead!' and 'Meatwater's Sound pack,') readily available for download on the internet, I am still playing this sim over a year after its release. It is vastly superior to its competition, and one of the finest simulations ever made.
Rating: Summary: European Air War Review: The problem is that it doens't run on a intel based graphic card. But the helpdesk was really professional.
Rating: Summary: User add-ons to European Air War make it the BEST! Review: This game is the best WWII European theater Air War sim available. Yes, it is 3 years old now, but there are TONS of very high-quality free add-ons available that really take it to a completely new level. Don't judge this game by what is just in the box-- new planes, terrains, campaigns and other graphical improvements by the user community are what make this so special. Do a google search on European Air War or EAW and you can find some nice sites for add-ons.
Rating: Summary: Great game, but starting to show it's age Review: This is a very entertaining game, but with Jane's and Microsoft combat sims on the shelves you'll have to get this game based on it's admittedly superior campaign missions. While the others give you a player to create and follow with promotions and medals and such, it's a lot more fun to follow your pilot with European Air War. The only gripe I have is that technology seems to be leaving this otherwise fine game behind. The scenery in other sims is making this one seem dull. Also while this seems to work fine using an older Pentium with an ATI rage card, a newer Pentium III with a SR9 card (allegedly better) gave enough weird results for me to set the machine to software rendering-which by the way worked just fine. Oh, and the answer is "no"-updated drivers and the patch did nothing. All in all a superior story line, a more entertaining feel, but let's you wish for a little more eye candy.
Rating: Summary: this is the best combat sim out there Review: this is the best. i have no other comments
Rating: Summary: EAW is still great! Review: This sim reached the stands in 1998 and it has aged very well. In concept, it is probably the finest since Lucas Arts "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe" released in the early 1990's. EAW puts the sim pilot into the action quickly and with all of the action one would expect from an ETO based game. Also, there is a large EAW group creating skins, sounds and new campaigns for the game so it is better now than when originally released. So, get it now and enjoy.

Rating: Summary: euorpean air wars Review: this was really highly reccomended by several but was a major dissapointment=after playing world war 11 fighters I guess I got spoiled=the sound and special effects just were not there.flight control not bad=I have more than enough system requirements to handle any game out there=as I said, a really ho hum game!
Rating: Summary: EAW remains a brilliant immersive WWII flight sim Review: With the amount and quality of *freeware* addon theatres, aircraft, and graphical enhancements EAW remains a high quality immersive gaming experience. The EAW community have now completed out of the box complete addon theatres for the Pacific (Midway and Guadalcanal), North Africa/Malta, and France/Dunkirk 1940. The Battle of Britain 1940 and European 1942-45 campaigns have been thoroughly upgraded. New theatres are on the way for the Spanish Civil War, the Winter War in Finalnd, and China 1937-39.
