Summary: Again a disappointment
Review: EA has produced FOOTBALL games since the beginning of dawn, and they have almost always been a disappointment. This time again. The gameplay of this game is insufficient. The option on your strategy arent available. Of course the game has its good things. The sounds and graphics are good, the fact that u play with the actual players superb. But, in the end, if u want a good football game go for Pro Evolution Soccer or for Winning Eleven. If u just want a simple game go for Eufa 2004, or even better (and cheaper) Fifa 2004

Summary: Nothing New
Review: Fifa 2004 but with more chants and without the career mode and the international tournaments...Same graphics, commentary, and more bugs...My advice is to wait for Fifa 2005.

Summary: FIFA 2004 is better
Review: I am not particularly impressed with this release. I play the FIFA 2004 on XBOX too and I think it is much better in terms of response and shots on target.

For some reason, even the highly rated players (Del Piero, Ronaldo, Trezeguet etc) seem to always shoot wide. This release does not quite encourage sprinting. Sprinting is a good feature for the strikers. Overall, the bells and whistles do not make up of the loss in functionality.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: It was nice to see EA trying to improve on the graphics and realism of the game. But the gameplay is horrible. It's very hard to control the players and the ball. The shooting is child-like almost. I'm a huge Euro and soccer fan, which is what keeps me into this game, but again, the gameplay is terrible. EA should send their game designers back to school.

Summary: soccer rules
Review: This game rocks, soccer is the best sport ever!! (it is clearly better than stupiud sports like hockey, basketball or baseball)

Summary: Winning Eleven 7 wannabe
Review: This game tries to come close to the gameplay of Winning Eleven 7, but it doesn't even come close.
Get Winning Eleven 7 if you want to play a true 'FOOTBALL' (and not, its not soccer) game.

Summary: American people...
Review: This isn't interesting for you people, maybe because you are not from europe, land of soccer and land of Euro Championship. Think of this like an expansion pack for Sims.
Keep Practicing.

Summary: When are you going to learn EA Sports
Review: Why can't EA Sports just upgrade the graphics, players and countries according to today's actual events on their really good soccer games and leave the functionality of the game be? I'm giving it three stars for the graphics; sure it was a bit of fun until it wore off - quickly too. If you've read the bad reviews on the FIFA 2004, well this is pretty much the same.
I played the xbox version; the most annoying thing for me was the fact it is extremely hard to score in corner kicks and free kicks. The other was the "Sprinting" of players; I'm okay with the fact that you have to hold the "Right-Triger" button but the player really doesn't go that fast, players get beat by the defense most of the time. The Sprint feature on the FIFA 2002 version for example, if a defender tries to catch up with your player, you can tap faster on the button and he goes faster, unless of course he gets tired, but at least that's realistic.

I suggest you rent it from a video store first before buying it. Good luck.

Summary: An improvement
Review: Yes, it's not anywhere near Winning Eleven as far as realism is concerned. But it does a reasonable job of creating a fun competitive game. One major gripe for me is that the playoff system is setup all wrong. Like Portugal and Greece in the real Euro tournament, if the top two teams from one group win through in the playoff stage, they will meet each other in the finals. In this video game, the top two teams from one group will meet each other in the semifinal. Hard to see a reason for that except sloppiness on EA's part.
