Summary: The hit Christmas gift
Review: All of my kids loved this game. Nothing bad to say about it. It gives soccer lovers a chance to pick teams, coach, learn the rules and have a lot of fun. League or single play option give players a chance to accumulate stats and even progress to the playoffs. Good graphics and lots of audio commentary add to the fun of this game.

Review: Great CD-ROM. My husband even enjoys playing with my daughters. Make sure you get the MLS version though. We've owned it for about 8 months and they still love it.

Summary: Loads of fun!
Review: I bought it for my daughter, and she absolutely loves this game. The graphics are excellent, the personalities and quirks of the players are cute, and the MLS and WUSA players add a very nice touch. Remember, this game was designed for kids. If you want the feel of realistic World Cup soccer, don't expect it from this game. If you want the feel of being a kid, rounding up the other neighborhood kids, choosing sides, finding a make-shift soccer field, and playing fun, arcade-style soccer - you will more than enjoy this game!

Summary: Backyard Sports Rock!!!!!!!

Summary: Great fun for kids
Review: My little brother loved this game. He found that it was much better than the other version. While you can choose from exciting players such as Cobi Jones, a MLS star or Brandi Chastain, a US womens star, you can create teams with the old original backyard kids. You can play a season and eventually end up winning the cup. You can Also play a multiplayer game, but sometimes it gets a little hectic with little players running around the field tripping and kicking the ball. It may get boring after a while, and the controls are a little odd, but it is still a great game for kids

Summary: Kids World Cup
Review: My nine year old is a soccer fanatic, so naturally we had to get him Backyard Soccer for Christmas. Little did I know that this little game could replace his real life fun during the off-season.

From Humongous Entertainment, the makers of other children's classics like Junior Field Trip Collection, Freddi Fish, and the other Backyard favorites (Baseball & Football) comes Backyard Soccer.

This game reminds me of my younger days. The realism included is awesome!
The programmers thought of everything from selecting your own team to playing for the championship.

The game starts with all of the Backyard gang gathered on the bleachers for the ceremonial picking of teams. As you make your selections, you can review the strengths and weaknesses of each player. Once you have put together your "Dream Team", it's off to pick your name and jerseys.
Of course, you have to have somewhere to play, and yes the programmers covered this one too. You pick from a number of neighborhood fields.

Now it's time for the game to start, and low and behold the commentators for the match-up appear. They even have an Englishman to do the color commentary.

My nine year old loaded and taught himself all of the ins and outs of this one. He's already played a number of league seasons, and yes he has won the championship with his Humongous Rockets team! He could even print out his team picture to commemorate the occasion!

The controls are so easy that even my four year old can be competitive at this one.

Thank You Humongous for covering the off-season and keeping soccer alive in my house!
