Review: An enormous starship crashes, releasing hoards of furious Jurassic beasts into the parks, sewers and steets. Eradicate the escaped carnivores or play as the dinosaur and stomp, claw and bite your way to freedom in this 4th edition to the Carnivores series. It's futuristic mayhem of pehistoric proportions.

Review: I played the demo, thought the graphics were a bit on the high side, but not so spectacular you'd faint. Anyway, I got the 'real game' from the demo: $9.54 deal and they'd send it to you through computer. Very fun, I must admit, though some levels are quite challenging. The only thing that pulled it down from a 5 to a four the graphics: sure, they're great, but the environment could use some work. The only thing that really bothered me was that I couldn't get the sound files; they were excellent..hmm. Oh well. Anyway, it's pretty fun being a dino, but it doesn't get as boring as fast as you think: if you type in a special code (wow, that sounded lame), you get to fly, and you can soar up there with the Pterosaurs and get a birds' eye view.

Summary: "Carnivores: Cityscape," Hunt or be Hunted
Review: Imagine yourself all alone in the sewers or on the subway. You are surrounded by darkness and eerie sounds echo about you. You look behind only to find yourself staring into the eyes of an eight-ton predator.

"Carnivores: Cityscape" combines the classic one person shooter game with the excitement of hunting lethal dinosaurs through futuristic environments. Dino Corp, the famous company who has raked in millions from rich connosiuers, has decided to try a new buisness tactic. After some unfortunate accidents on their revoulutionary dinosaur hunting planet, they have decided to take the show on the road. Dino Corp has filled a ship with dinosaurs and plans to take it around the earth colonies as a traveling roadshow.

The game starts with a bang as the spaceship, Dino VII, crash-lands on the outskirts of Crater City, a remote earth colony. The angry dinosaurs, now free from the ship, run amok. You are a special military agent hired by Dino Corp to destroy the dinosaurs. Or if angry dinosaurs are your thing, play as a dinosaur and bite and claw your way to victory.

As an agent, your missions will consist of rescuing people and killing dinosaurs. To accomplish this task, you will be given an arsenal of weaponry ranging from machine guns to laser rifles.

As a dinosaur you must basically destroy the planet, beginning as the small but agressive Coelophysis, and ending as the 46-foot long Giganatosaurus. When your health gets low, finding medical kits isn't the answer. To regain health, you must eat your kills.

"Carnivores: Cityscape" is not only a fun and addictive game, but it is somewhat educational. The game uses unusual dinosaur species. Instead of the standard T-Rex and Velociraptor, players will play as the mighty Suchomimus or the bird-like Oviraptor. These rare creatures will help people learn more about dinosaurs and their ancestors.

"Cityscape" supports multiplayer so players can connect over the internet, or one of many other connections, and play with or against each other. Players can play as cooperative agents, cooperative dinosaurs, deathmatch games, or every man for himself.

I have very few criticisms of this game. After hours of searching, I still haven't figured out how to start a multiplayer game. Don't try consulting the instruction book either. Also, after you have won the game a few times, it gets old, but if you give it some time, it will regain its appeal. I won the game as both human and dinosaur within three days of when I bought it. The game could be improved by making "Carnivores: Cityscape" harder.

Overall, "Carnivores: Cityscape" is a great game. It has great graphics including, water ripples, great landscapes, and realistic dinosaurs. Certain graphics my be distorted if you get too close to something. It also has great audio, including ripples, gunshots and bone-chilling roars.

"Carnivores" is the ultimate dinosuar game. You can save or destroy the world. Choose your path wisely.

Summary: This is the king of Bargain shooters......
Review: Like many gamers I get my paycheck and head to the stores in search of games, Carnivores: CityScape was not the game I was planning on buying but after I installed it the game impressed me right from the get go....I'm a long time fan of the AVP (Aliens Versus Predator) series and this game game was along the same lines. The graphix are about the best iv'e seen from a budget shooter and overall it's just a blast to play...especially as the Agent who has a few nifty vision modes and some descent weapontry....the only thing i found lacking in this game was the lack of video sequences but over all it's still one hell of a game.

Summary: Hmmm....
Review: This game is fairly interesting, but is a bit short for me. I found playing as a dino pretty silly. Running over dudes in metal suits got kind of old.

Dino hunting is fun, except for the small dinos who run too fast to get a good shot at. I often let a few chase me, jump up on something, then kill the pesky things with a good blast of my x rifle. Also, some of the people I tried to rescue were annoyingly stupid, getting in my way. Loading times were a bit long also, but the graphics were nice (apparently the Serious Sam engine).

A cautious recommendation. Worth it if you find it cheap. For fun combat, try No One Lives Forever. Not a hunting game, but a shooter that is ten times the fun for about the same price.

Summary: Carnivores Cityscape
Review: This is an incredible game, perhaps the best game I've ever played. This is as good as it gets, especially for a budget priced game. The premisis is that in the future, a space shuttle returning from a distant world that is younger then Earth and thus the inhabitents look alot like our own prehistoric animals crashes outside of Crater City, a remote colony of Earth. It soon becomes evident that dinosaurs have taken over the ship, and are rapidly escaping and invading the city. You can play as eiether a Millitary Offier, battling dinosaurs, rescuing civilians and restoring order or as one of the dinosaurs, killing humans, nesting and taking over the colony. The dinosaurs look spectacular, as they were desinged by paleo-artist Todd Marshall. The only flaw in the game is long loading times for the levels, even on fast machines. Some levels, like the Jungle Valley and the Downtown area, are large and complex and visually stunning, making them worth the wait but others like the subway station are rather plain and should not take as long as they do to load. Overall, a spectacular game, and a must have!
