Review: This game is outstanding! To be honest, I'm somewhat amused by those reviewers who complained about the game. I've been playing for a number of years now, and have yet to complain about the quality of my game. Mythic is a wonderful, and very attentive company- as long as you follow the rules! I appreciate that enough complaints about the behaviour of rude and unpleasant players can either cost them aid from other players- and in certain circumstances, cost them their game account, requiring them to purchase a whole new game, and lose all their prior characters.

I have no problem with that policy. I also feel that most bad reviews written about this game are probably from players who broke the rules and payed for it.

As for the game play itself, it is unmatched! It is truly a whole other world you sink into every time you log on. I really love the various realms, the varieties of classes, their different specs, the armour, abilities, weapons, craft skills, spells.... the list is almost endless! Take, for example, a single character. I'm a Paladin. I can choose 2 handed, crush, slash, or a combination of the 3 for my fighting styles. I have a host of chants to choose from, lots of weapons I can use, tons of choices in armour (if someone crafts it for me)... and that's just one of many, many characters in one of three realms! Like I say- limitless possibilities!

Go, buy, play!

See you out there!

Summary: Overated
Review: This game is overated! Some of these online websites that review games are so biased toward games. The games that focus mainly on hack and slash seem always to score much higher than the games that actually have some depth. I have tried a few Online Games and I have come to the conclusion Ultima Online is by far the best there is. EVE and WWII Online are also very good online games. This game really annoys me in many ways. I think this game is for younger audiences. Everything seems too childish in this game to me just like Everquest. The penalty for dying is not very harsh. Item insurance I think is a dumb idea. When a character dies they SHOULD lose everything. Characters in DAOC automatically gain spells as they level. That really spoils the game. It is a lot more interesting when you have to buy spells and it cost regeants(special ingredients needed to cast a spell) to cast spells. I am sick of experience based RPG games. Ultima Online made leveling a lot more interesting when it did away entirely with the experience system and instead made a skill based system. In my opinion this is more practical. The Player vs. Player system in DAOC I think is one of the worst I have seen. Ultima Online's Siege Perilous shard is still by far the best for Player vs. Player combat. Eve online and WWII online also have excellent Player vs. player combat systems. The crafting/trade skills are still limited compared to what characters can do in Ultima Online. Ultima Online still has the best economy system in my opinion. Ultima Online has a much more broad list of professions characters can persue than in DAOC. UO's treasure hunting & theif profession is unmatched. Although DAOC doesn't lock players into a profession as much as Everquest, it is not nearly as flexible as Ultima Online. In Ultima Online if a grandmaster fighter decides he wants to be a mage or a barb, or anyting else he can do so. Characters never really have to start over from scratch in Ultima Online if they don't like their profession. DAOC its flexible up to level 5, big deal thats only a day of work at most.

Summary: Haha!
Review: This game is so cool! Ha! I love it.

You can choose between 3 realms and then choose your race and job. You can go into the frontiers to fight other realms. You can stay in your realm and group with people and go on raids. There are many servers including PVP where you can fight anyone, anywhere.

DARk AGe Of CAMELOt and FINAl FANTASy XI are the best fantasy online games ever!!!

Summary: Very Fun!!
Review: This game is soo much fun and so easy to play. # realms with different races and classes makes it like 3 different games. Mythic has wonderful customer support if you ever need assistance. The quests are great too!!

Summary: Too Much Fun To Contain
Review: This Game isn't a Game but a World on its own. It has several Career and Class Paths one Person can Choose. In respect to what else you can do for [the money] (Go see 1 movie and get a drink for example,) the monthly fee is well worth it. I have played this game for ages and it still entertains me vs. Playing most solid content games for a few months and getting tired of it.

If you are interested in MMORPG or just out looking for a new and different experience I strongly suggest DAOC.

Summary: DAoC Troubles
Review: This game was just outstanding, up to there Trials of Atlants. ToA, changed all formats of the game. You now need not only just a level 50 but the ToA to just survive in this game. If you are looking for the great reviews of the game of DAoC, they are gone.
Anyone starting out new will have the worst time in leveling because all that have level 50 char's do /level 20, so the new person on the block is for the most part out. If some one gets this with out ToA, you will not have the fun that was once there in this game. Over all i will now give this a 1 star from a 5 from 1 year ago and the reason being that anyone that starts now will have a long time too go be compairable to some level 40's. If you think you would like to try the game you will have to get ToA and spend the time to get a level 50 and then try to get there newer stuff in ToA too event survive. Its a sad day for Mythic on New Additions

Summary: Mythic Entertainment will continue to bill your credit card!
Review: This is just to serve as a warning to those of you who create an account for Dark Age of Camelot. You will be given two choices: 1. Renew for one month @12.95 2. Renew for three months for a reduced price. Well, I opted for the first method and wrongly figured that I would be billed for just a month at a time. Nope! Mythic Entertainment will continue to bill you month after month which I discovered after-the-fact on my credit statement. I had to call their Virginia office to cancel and they are not pleasant to deal with.

My rating is based on the amount of money this game ended up costing me versus the level of enjoyment the game provided. Game enjoyment minus amount of $$ spent = 1 star

Summary: Helpful information??
Review: To be frank I've one question. Which servers can you play on if you buy this from amazon.com?
I live in the UK, but want to purchase a US version so that I can play on the US Servers. I have several friends who play the game and they all play on US servers.
There is nothing detailing the billing / month (apart from the 1 star review)
Some sort of price indication would be good, even if only a rough estimate.
In my experience, any game that tried to avoid letting you know there was a subscription was usually a bad thing.
I've played the game a few times and read the manual, but I still can't find any sections about billing/costs/amounts.

Can anyone answer the above?

Summary: Addictive is an understatement...
Review: To the point: I love this game. It has virtually infinite replay value, the graphics are great, and the gameplay is solid. The only complaint I have is that Mythic Entertainment neglected to print something on the box which you're required to do before playing: Kiss your social life goodbye. Once you start playing you won't stop. Patches are constantly being added to improve this already great game. If your mouse isn't moving over to the "Add to cart" button as we speak, you are wrong. Buy this game!
