Summary: superior by far
Review: i got this game, oh i dont know, 3 years ago, and could not wait for the release of Tiberium sun, but what i found was just a souless shell of a game.

The original red alert was balanced but still diverce. Foucused on planing, strategy, and cunning. Balanced gameplay is the key. whereas the new tiberium sun may look pretty, the game is just the same rehashed harvest, build, rush, brining nothing new to the genre.

i love Red alert, my first foree into the multiplayer world, everyday after school, i would play modem games. who knows how many hours i logged playing it. Buy Red alert, a great great game. Whereas Tiberium sun is not worth the time of day, it is pretty, and thats about it. There are no downsides to anything, every unit is too good for its own good. NO balance, no gameplay, no fun.

Westwood, hoping to cash in on the RTS gravy train pumped out its newest contender, tiberium sun, without putting any soul behind it. Buy red alert, or total annihilation or homeworld, games that truly revolutionized the RTS world and will give you a worthwhile time that would warrent you shelling out your cash for.

Summary: THE BEST STRATEGY GAME EVER
Review: I must have played a thousand games in college. This game simply made me look for more strategy games to buy. To this day, I have not played a better strategy game. Head to head against a friend is second to none and there are so many methods to beat the opponent. My personal favorite; sneak in thieves and deplete the enemy's silos.

Summary: This game is moderately strategic
Review: I played this game for a bit and found it was ok. It was very violent and futuristic, but i guess thats what teenagers want these days. I found the campaigns very easy, as I beat them in a week. The game isnt very strategic, but it has it's strategy points. This game should not be rated 5 stars. The graphics are mediocre, the music is annoying, and the gameplay is slightly boring after a while. As you go through the world as either the Russians or the English, you face many campaigns that you must beat. It was clever of them to put them together, but they are very easy. You can go along several paths, another plus, but the paths all end the same way if you win.

This game is also not very strategic. You are either allied or soviet, and each team has completely different units. That maybe strategic, but there are only 2 points of views to master. In Age of Empires or Age of Kings, there are many different civilizations each with bonuses and special units. Also, the terrain has no affect on how damage is dealt. It will just deal the same amount every time. No matter to what kind of unit. In AOK, each unit has a different amount of armor, some have attack bonuses against certain units, and units have the advantage in battle when they are uphill.

This game is also very violent and bloody with futuristic weapons. Not the kind of game i would like my kids playing. In AOK, the units use bows, arrows, and swords, with not much blood and historical features. It also has a whole history book of all the tribes that you can be and their history.

Oh. What the point of the game is. Blow the other team to bits with guns as big as you can.

I didnt like this game much, and from my review, you can see that I would reccommend Age of Empires or Age of Kings. See my review of Age of Empires Collecter's Edition. Before you even consider buying this game.

Summary: The best of the C&C series so far
Review: I really enjoyed C&C, but Red Alert is all in all the best and most engaging of the 3 (including Tiberian Sun) so far. A great game in the Real Time Strategy genre.

Summary: This Game is Awesome!
Review: I think this is one of the most awesome war/strategy games of all time. A fast-paced base-builder in which the player must think on his feet in order to build a strong foundation for the rest of the game. O.K graphics, interesting story (If only the missions had more variety one that no strategy gamer should be without!

Summary: BEST FREAKIN GAME EVER!
Review: IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS XP AND WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME, THEN GOOD LUCK, CUZ YOUR GOING TO NEED IT! I SPENT 41 HOURS INSTALLING AND REINSTALLING AND CONFIGURING AND UPDATING AND PATCHING AND REINSTALLING AND CHANGING INTERNET PROTOCOLS ALL BECAUSE WESTWOOD CANT SUPPORT A QUALITY PRODUCT FOR 8 YEARS! THIS GAME IS BASED OFF OF WINDOWS 95, AND WINDOWS XP IS BASED OFF OF WINDOWS NT, HENCE THE CONFLICT! INSTALLING IS A BREEZE, BUT DONT THINK ABOUT PLAYING LAN WITHOUT INSTALLING ANCIENT IPX PROTOCOLS, BECAUSE THATS ALL WESTWOOD USES!

But if you do happen to install the game and configure your IPX Protocols properly then you will have access to THE GREATEST GAME EVER INVENTED!!!

And yes.. I just got my copy of Red Alert running a lan game on a XP machine and an ME machine.. No please, no applauss.

Summary: World War 2 Just Changed...
Review: In C&C: Red Alert (in case you don't already know) you fight an alternate World War 2, in which Germany, Britain, Greece and all the other Western European countries fight against the might of the Soviet Union. The game is a classic, and the scientific details are well thought out. (Tesla now devotes his time to weapons research for the Soviets, while Einstein is the key to a secret Allied weapon) Buy the game - you won't regret it.

Summary: Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Review: Of all the strategic games I have ever played, I'd have to say Command & Conquer Red Alert is the all time best. My reason for liking this game so much is that it kept me excited and occupied the whole time I played it. There seemed to be an endless amount of scenarios and endings to each campaign. But the one feature about the game that I liked the most by far is the Skirmish Mode, which allows you to play the computer on one battlefield to conquer eachother's base. I also enjoyed playing over the internet against human players, which gave me a sense of actually playing another person with different strategies and skills. The way it allows you to build your own base and conquer others gives you a sense of complete control over what happens next. You can control individual soldiers or a group of tanks, men, and aircraft to attack enemy structures. If you are a big strategic game fan this is a must have. You won't be dissapointed!

Summary: Red Alert is a fun buy but not as good as RA2
Review: Red Alert has awesome items like the telsa coils and the mig airplanes and some other EXTREMELY NEAT STUFF! But the game is very fun but not as good as RA2. RA2 Has alot more neat stuff than this does. Now to make Red Alert really fun though, buy Aftermath and Counterstrike. Also the single player missions are fun at first, and are very challanging, I just have to say that red alert to is for people who like the classics and fair graphics games.
