Summary: Looks great, but how much power do you need for God's sake
Review: I've got a Pentium3, 800MHz, 128M RAM, machine with an NVidia GeForce graphics card and the game runs like a dog. It's fine until some action begins, such as an alien attack, and then the whole thing just starts siezing up. The motion becomes really jerky and its impossible to control or see whats going on. But the game looks really great. The detail is amazing, just look at the mountains and the sky! Also, the atmosphere is better than in the first game and there is more of a storyline to the game, whereas in the first one it was just a mindless killfest. Watch out for the bit where you're about to 'birth' when playing the alien - really sick guys!

Summary: Simply amazing
Review: This game is all we hoped for but didn't get in AVP, it has Amazing locations(Not being simply confined to the endless repedative corridors of the 1st game) Including but not limited to huge outdoor areas (mainly experienced with the predator) in which you can really flex your species's muscle. As well as well detailed internal areas, not the boring repedative textured corridors of the 1st but amazingly real sick bays, command centers alien pens etc, all very claustrophically portrayed in the style of the movies.

My personal favorite though, was the visiting of the derilict, I dunno if they actually got Giger for this game, but damn, they used the proper textures, not the latent inconsistencies of the hive walls of the 1st, but the actual proper beautiful necronicon esq patterns of Gigers work, and when you start to power up the ship, oh boy, you actualy get an idea of how that thing worked :).

On to the races -

The marine was by far the most terrifying to play, obviously, you were the weakest of the 3 races, but you also got some really fun toys, rather than the search for hidden key quest of the 1st, if you see a door you can't open, chances are you either have to hack it, or use your blow torch. The marine definitly had the best plot as you went through the various betrayals and liberation of Harrison.

The Alien was fun, not much change from the except the ability to pounce. The ability to hide in the shadows and just generally be more like an alien from the 1st movie rather than the 2nd was fun as hell. The plot sees you following a scientist with some rather large mental deficencies who has a vandetta against your race on a power trip.

The predator was extremly fun for a number of reasons, you got a few out door levels in which you really got to be a predator in all senses of the word, un hindered by small spaces, the toys of the beast were the best part though, there is of course, the faithful plasma caster, and a slightly upped pistol, wrist blades and disk, but added to the pile are remote bombs, net guns and a collapsable spear, throughout the preds game you will pursue an old trophy, and pick quite a few up along the way :)

All in all, if you wanted to see alien 3 and 4 done right, are an avid lover of multiplay with a touch of difference, or are just looking to piss your pants over a game, go buy this, you won't regret it.

Summary: Relives the Movies
Review: This is just like the movie Aliens because this game is great. The marine missions are my favorite, because you get cool alien butt kicking weapons such as the brutal flamthrower, the lightning fast minigun, the powerful pulse rifle, the explosive sniper rifle, and my personal favorite, the messy but awsome assault shotgun. The shotgun can drop an alien like a bag of hammers from over 20 feet away. I also like the alien missions alot beacuse you are just a walking weapon, the only problem is the game lags when fighting multiple marines (i uninstalled some games to compensate for this). I just can't beat the marine mission Price of addmission even with cheats, but I'll get there. One tip for all you people who are losing badly at the marine missions is fire your pulse rifle in short bursts of about 5 per alien to save ammo, this is very effective does not reduce power. Any of you who were turned off by the demo, give this game a try, it is alot different.

Summary: Visually Stunning!
Review: I never used to be a Monolith fan. I thought all the old Monolith games looked like...

Pros:
Alien vs. Predator 2 completely changed my mind. This game is absolutely gorgeous and runs very smooth. After playing through ugly games like Operation Flashpoint, AVP2 looks the difference between night and day. The graphics in AVP2 looks like a movie. The storyline and NPCs interaction is a little weak, but considering you can play as a Marine, Alien, or Predator. I think Monolith did a good job. This is 10x better than the original AVP.

Cons:
There is a lack of low ping multiplayer servers. There also a big need for a chasecam for the Alien's wall-walking ability. It is very disorienting in first-person.

Graphics: 10/10
Just beautiful. Stunning and fast!

Sound: 8/10
Excellent atmosphere, but some sounds like the Predator roaring after every decapitation/trophy gets annoying.

Single Player: 10/10
Just perfect! It is like three different games combined into one.

Multi Player: 5/10
Server ping times are very high. Let's hope Monolith fixes this.

Fun: 9/10
Would be a 10/10 if multiplayer was better.

Summary: Great. Satisfying. Dark. SHORT!!
Review: I never played AVP, too much bad press, and I didn't really care when I found out this was coming out.

My mind has been changed. Monolith is really turning into a great house. All the praise that has been heaped on this game is due, so I'll harp on the weaknesses.

Too Damn Short! This is essentially a multiplayer game with three training missions. Highly entertaining missions, but very very very very short. Thought Max Payne was short? By the time you're breaking into the mansion in MP, you're done with AVP2.

No Risks. I think this game sticks too closely to what has been laid out in the movies. The plot, while entertaining, was just a re-hash of A4 with an added Predator hunt. There's so much room for creativity in this universe I'm a little peeved that Monolith (who did an amazing job with NOLF) didn't take advantage of it (unless Fox kept a clamp on what was going on).

Balance. The predator is absolutely unstoppable. It's fun to play and there are certainly ways to get killed, but compared to the other 2 he's a juggernaut.

These translate into minor points and don't impact playability so I don't want to give the impression that I think there's anything wrong with the game. For the most part, there just isn't enough.

How about a sizable add-on pack Monolith?

Summary: Best action game so far this year
Review: Great graphics , sound and gameplay. Buggy multiplayer? I don't care. Where I live , majority of the people only play multiplayer games at cyber-cafe's.

Summary: scary atmosphere, better than the first in every aspect, but
Review: I had a lot of doubts before I bought the game. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a failure. I waited for the reviews to pop up, and as soon as they started getting published on the web, I read each and every one of them. Then I decided to buy the game and I am so glad I did. The graphics, the sounds, the atmosphere and the ability to play as the alien, predator and the marine all add up to one high quality game. The work that has gone into developing this game is evident from the start. I love singleplayer so I was actually a bit dissapointed to find that the singleplayer mission aren't that long. I expected something maybe not as long as No One Lives Forever, but at least close to it in terms of singleplayer play time. Still, this is a great game that the fans of the films should enjoy. I gave it 4 stars because of the short singleplayer experience which excites you and then finishes. Good job Monolith!

Summary: So Frighteningly Realist you'll have nightmares
Review: This game rocks. Talk about realism at it's best. If you think Counter Strike and all those games look good Check out this Gem. Texture mapping is so clean you can see the hairs on the marine's arm move in the wind. You can see your reflection in the aliens slimy dome just before it tears you appart. This game is so fast past is keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you were a fan of the first one you NEED to get this. It's got the same fst paced, high impact, scary as hell, nerve racking game play with a lot more plot and more abilities.
We got to see 5 different types of aliens in AvP and AvP Gold and were mad that we got to play as only one. Hearing our Cries Fox has made this game to be perfect. As an Alien you start out as a Face Hugger who must find it's host then break out as a chest burster and avoid everything until you grow into the menacing drone that roams around killing everything that we see in the movies.
As Predator you start out with a few things and as your skills improve you get better weapons and technologies. We also get to use weapons seen in Predator 2. The Spear and Net Gun(Got to Love that thing)
Marines have a few more added items such as a field lite, a hacing device, and fully automatic pistol, and ooooh knives.(great to run around with in Multy player when you need to hon your skills)
This game rules. It makes the origional look like a low rate B budget game. And we know that it wasn't that.

Summary: Amazing
Review: This game rocks. Even if u dont have a great connection to the internet at high speeds u can still play the amazing single player, three times over AND to tell the truth, when the beta MP 1st came out i was on DSL playing w/
a 300 ping and it still rocked, so u should get this game either way. But one note, play the single before u play multi, it helps alot. =)
