Summary: Great game
Review: Its like rainbow six but outside so the areas your vulnerable frome are huge. This game takes alot of patience and you probably will not finish any missions on the first run through.

Summary: Not great, but not bad either
Review: Like RB6/RS, but out in the woods instead.

Planning is a pain.

Friendly AI isn't all that great. Most the time you will find yourself saving a lot, because the "Ghosts" wait until the last second to fire their weapons in return. Plus, if the friendly AI has a secondary weapon like a grenade, or grenade launcher--they won't use them. Pathfinding is crap, and you will find yourself checking your six to make sure your back-up team members are following. Only 3 men per squad, so there's a lot of micro-managing team placement and movements.

The enemy AI like all previous titles, magically knows where you are after 1 or 2 shots and can drill you from 100 yards out with a pistol--instantly.

CQB is a pain, not to mention predictable. Enemy soldiers walk nut-to-butt in common patrol patterns.

Bad guys can hide behind doors and wooden tables and remain safe from your high caliber weapons.

If it wasn't for the player community's mods and skins, this game would be dead in the water.

Summary: Sucks you right in.
Review: The gameplay in Ghost Recon is incredible. Don't expect another Rainbow Six/Rogue Spear. While the interface is almost identical the method of play is much different. I have to admit that I was hesitant to play a "sneak around" game after the hair-bristling-assault style of RS/RS, but this game satisfies. The sound effects and visual atmosphere are very nice - sometimes almost eerie. The constant feeling that someone is watching you in their scope is pure excitement. Just like real life, you don't step out into an open field in this game. Hold tight to cover and go slow or you will pay dearly. I remember the first time I played - creeping through the woods, birds chirping - when suddenly I noticed that there was someone walking just down the hill to my right. My heartbeat rate jumped right through the roof. Or how about one of the "thick fog" missions where you wonder when someone will step out of the mists and unload on you - great tension. If you liked Rainbow Six and think you'd like a game with a more military feel, buy this one now. If you want to know a little bit of what true war is like today, buy this one now.

Summary: Not too bad at all
Review: This is a pretty good game. I just got it and have had a lot of fun playing it. It's reasonably priced; I think there are 31 different missions with the 2 expansion packs in the Gold Edition.

I'm only playing on the easiest setting right now "Recruit" and it's all right; I'm assuming that medium and hard are a fair bit more challenging. It's good value for the money and a good way to kill some time for people who like shooting games. The graphics aren't that great, but the game is already dated, so you can't expect much. And like I said, it's reasonably priced; you'd be hard-pressed to get as much game for the same amount of money these days.

I'd recommend it if you like Tom Clancy games....just don't expect it to be Splinter Cell or Rainbow Six.

Summary: great graphics and game play
Review: This is my first spuad-based game. And what a deal! It pays to wait until 3 games are packaged into a gold or platnium edition! The training session was helpful. You control 3 separate squads, and you are a member of one squad. As a team, you assualt the enemy and complete the objectives. You control where and how the teams move (and during set-up, you can choose your team members and their weapons...or just let the computer do it for you). I learned to tell my squads where to go and then start/stop them every so often to look around and fight the enemy. You have 3 main screens; the action screen where you see all the pretty graphics; the soldier screen where you can check health status and switch between different soldiers (you can change to any soldier on any of your squads and assume his role...really cool!); the map screen where you plan the route that your squads will take. I also really like the objective briefing screens; they did a nice job on those. This is definitely different than the typical first person shooter game or real-time strategy game. It does take a little getting use to, but once you get the hang of it, it's really fun! Even for an "older" game, I thought the sound and graphics were great!

Summary: 3 awesome games, but nothing new.
Review: This package includes Tom Clancy's GHOST RECON, Tom Clancy's GHOST RECON: DESERT SIEGE, and Tom Clancy's GHOST RECON: ISLAND THUNDER.

GHOST RECON is the groundbreaking squad-based combat game. It is the best Tom Clancy game to date, and featured multiple strategies for playing, ranging from stealth to guns-blazing. The online play was phenomenal and free of lag; and can still be played. Graphics are good, but actually look a little dated.

GHOST RECON: DESERT SIEGE is the first expansion pack to GHOST RECON. It obviously took on a desert setting; but also featured many improvements. The game still had its excellent online play; but it seemed to be a slight rehash.

GHOST RECON: ISLAND THUNDER is the best and most recent expansion pack. The one-player difficulty is harder, but not to the point where people will quit. The multiplayer (online) levels seem more interesting this time, and have unique new places to take cover.

Each expansion pack improved over the last one, and made up for 3 great games. If you never tried an online squad-based combat game, you owe it to yourself. If you already own these, there is nothing new here. Console gamers who enjoyed SOCOM: US NAVY SEALS or who liked the port of GHOST RECON will find this interesting and worthwile. People who were disappointed in CONFLICT: DESERT STORM or who want a squad-based take on RAINBOW SIX would do wise also to check this out.
