Summary: From a 3 year player of AC 1
Review: At first I thought "there's no way i'll quit AC 1 for this".But it being in beta,and remembering other beta games I have played,I stuck with it.In the past month the game has made amazing strides forward.In both content and features,graphics are the best i've seen.
If all you do is kill monsters,yes it's boreing.The vault campanes and quests are better than any I have seen in the other games I have played,UO,EQ,and AC 1.
If you go in and just play a day or 2 you can't a true feel for the game,give it a week and you'll be hooked.Like to play music,dance,craft items that you can actually use ?,it's in there.
I for one will be going to AC 2 when it goes retail.

Summary: Shaping up nicely
Review: Excellent graphics, crisp interaction, decidedly short on bug's (compared to some live games). Game play a little short on content... at the moment. It's only at beta but it's still more playable than a host of the current MMORPG's. A few months down the line and I'm sure Turbine will have filled the world with a lot more content. I personally look forward to roaming the brave new world. Excellent job Turbine... well done.That all said... Microsoft how about cutting your European customers some slack. A game release on different dates is understandable (shipping time etc.), but how about giving us the pre-order offer that Amazon.com have but with Amazon.co.uk. A chance to register an Avatar name at the same time as everyone else is a great incentive to game sign up. Don't alienate your loyal foreign customers.

Summary: Not an extension of AC1, but an entirely different game...
Review: After reading the reviews, you're probably confused - not knowing who is real and who is an employee of Turbine. The true fact of the matter is that when AC1 came out several years ago it was something totally different from what was out there. People who enjoyed the new "style" of game left the EQs, the UOs, and the other MMORPGs and migrated to AC1. But... Some stayed with the "old style" preferring it over AC1. So the powers to be decided to try to create a game that would appeal to them... AC2 is that game. That is why hardcore players of AC1 don't like AC. AC2's "style" of play is similar to what they left to play AC1, but people who play the other games will find AC2 to be a vast improvment. AC2 is the nicest MMORPG out there (unless you like AC1). Graphix are outstanding and the game is just plan pretty. Download the BETA and see for yourself. Turbine and Microsoft are trying to have the best of both worlds. Most AC1 players will stay with AC1, while (they hope) a hole new customer base will play AC2.

Summary: AC1 upgraded
Review: Been playing AC1 since beta and AC2 off and on in beta. AC2 makes a lot of improvements over AC1. It actually imcorporates many of the third party apps used in AC1. I like the trade skill system in AC2 compared to AC1. You are able to make weapons, armor, etc... from items you find on monsters. The quality of items you make increases with practice. Graphic wise, AC2 is a huge improvement over AC1. The game play is, nontheless, very similar to AC1 and nothing at all like Diablo. It may be similar to DAoC, never played that one. There seem to be more towns, land mass and areas to explore than AC1. No doubt I'll buy it eventually, but not ready to give up AC1 quite yet.

Review: There are only 2 things I liked about this game. The graphics and the crafting system. The worst thing about this game is t he combat system. The combat system is based solely on items, and skill level has little to no effect on combat effectiveness with primary attacks. Special attacks do become more effective as the skill gets higher. This game lacks content to keep the players attention.

Summary: A very very disappoint follow up to the orginal game
Review: The game lacks the playablity, orginality, and creativity that made the orginal Asheron's Call a success, in my mind From my beta testing experience Its graphics make the game cumbersome and extremely laggy, it needs a very top of the line system with a DSL or better connection to function. Its lacks abilty to be truely unqiue like in AC I. The whole system seems less realitic and a cheap mock of Dark Ages of Camelot (a game i can barey stand to play) I cannot stress enough to play at a friends house or beta test AC II before considering buying I relaize some better issue will be resolved but not enough to make it worthwhile Maybe they will include Dark Majesty with AC 2 to bring fresh faces to the wonderful Asheron's Call Dark Majesty community

Summary: Beta...YES......Better than AC1.....no
Review: I have been an AC player for a long time. I have 2 accounts. One character is level 71 and another is 69. I have been playing AC2 beta on and off for a couple of months. At this point, all I can say...THE GRAPHICS ARE AWESOME....that's it. The game play is terrible...you can't control how your warrior fights in battle...the chat screen is like a HUD on an F-15 and hard to see. I hope the developers include much more of AC1... play wise.....otherwise...I will just stay in AC1 and someday when AC2 is what I want it to be...then I will be there. Dionisius aka Rankore

Summary: Um anyone else wanna stay on asherons call 1?
Review: I was selected for AC2 beta i have been playing AC1 since nov of last year. I have to say theytotally changed this game to appeal to the DAOC and everquest fans the game mechanics and playability is NOTHING like AC1. It's a whole new game and mostly for the worse. If you were a fan of AC1 expect to be extremely disapointed with this title. I hate to say it but turbine totaly sold out on this game. They ruined the series for fans of AC1 and changed it merely to pick up some new players. Way to go to hop on the graphics bandwagon turbine. I will never purchase another turbine game again because of the utter sellout Turbine committed by making this game the way it plays. For you DAOC/ everquest fans you may wish to check it out as an ok game. But all and all it's a game that relies on graphics and not game play. And for those of you with Dial=up/lower powered systems don't even bother to try this one. The real requirements should be DSL/Cable 1.5 Ghz p4 or higher 512 MB of RAM or higher because thats around what my system is and it barely ran it! My thumbs down to another company that soldout and changed the gameplay of another great former game =/

Review: I tried this game for about 4 weeks it really ... There is not plot to the game its a copy off of "Dark Ages of Camelot", graphics are nice, but that all i can say that is good about the game. If you really like "Dark Ages of Camelot" stick with that game. If you like asherons call 1 stick with that game I dont recommed this game to anyone. unless you have a great time doing nothing but powerleveling and wandering around with out a point.
