Summary: Don't...just don't...
Review: I started to read the Wheel of Time series before buying this game. After the first book, I went out and bought this from Gamestop I think and wish I wouldn't have spent the [money] on it. The only good thing I can say are the cinematics, which try to tell a good story. The only problem is that none of it seems to fit right in the WoT world. Whitecloaks using ter`angreal, attacks on the White Tower, ter`angreal being able to lose their charge...

As a game, it's maybe a bit better, until you try to hit the god-forsaken multiplayer section. The bloody multiplayer server setup is so complicated, I have yet to get it to run server and client at the same time. If you want a good story, get another Wheel of Time book. If you want a good game, get Unreal Tournament or NeverWinter Nights. ...

Summary: Inventive and creative Multiplayer.
Review: I'll keep this short, since I played it such a long time ago. This game
was so underrated, it's a shame it didn't do all that well. The multiplayer
was creative and interesting - spell casting ... and counter spells! It turned
boring "shoot-em melee" (ala Quake2/3) into a tactical shooter. Plus
additional setup time for multiplayer and the setting of traps and
barriers was unique, and added enhanced play value.

And the Unreal engine was used to its potential. Gorgeous maps and

lighting. Almost as awe inspiring as the original Unreal maps when they
came out (and they were - don't be jaded by today's standard's (4/21/2003))
(Sunspire, anyone?)

I think the only reason I stopped playing this game was that I went from
a school T3 connection to a 56k modem ... and then got caught up later
by other games.

Summary: ho hum
Review: The game was fairly tiresome most of the time. I suppose there were a few gripping moments, but the storyline was rather poor. The Magic system was good, and there were some cool moments like being able to levitate your enemies over your head and throw them off the tower wall. But there were problems with the AI and the monster men looked stupid. The game featured a group of witches that really should have been Holy Sisters, by the way they acted. What's with today's world? God forbid anyone have a chaste Nun as a heroine. No, instead we must have witch-sisters. The artwork wasnt bad, I'll give that to the game-makers. But this game overall doesnt come close to the excellent work done on something like Arx Fatalis. Better to save your money and get that instead.

Summary: The Game Wouldn't Even Install
Review: I own a Compaq desktop, model 5686, & a HP Pavillion laptop, model ze5170. Both have Windows XP. I tried installing the game from 3 different CD Rom drives, 1 of which was my CD burner and the other a DVD/CD drive. None of them worked. The disk kept getting stuck on the Maps/Mission_10.wot file. I may have just gotten a dud, but I wouldn't try buying this game again unless I knew for sure that it worked on at least one computer that I own.

Summary: awesome
Review: best game ever!

It takes a while to become really good though, but it's worth the effort.

sp mode is really good as well, play it in the dark and turn the sound up, you'll have a great time!

enjoy, [SoL]scavenger

Summary: I have a few choice words about this game
Review: I think I got this as a Christmas or birthday present, anyway while they were giving directions, the game bugged and it was telling me to do a standing blast of magic or something, and my character started moving forward and it wouldn't stop. It sounds like my problem was unique, but even without this bug, I wasn't too impressed by this game. First of all, it would be better off following the book's plot, but from what I remember it was mostly campaigns (I didn't get very far, as I tried to return the gift only to have the people at Walmart say, "we're sorry but we don't return PC games"). I also don't remember having normal attacks, it was all ranged stuff, and combat system was a bit crummy. First-person mode is totally inapropriate for a story game, third person [like FFVII] would have been far more fitting.

Summary: A fun game, but lacking.
Review: As a die-hard WOT fan, I was sorely dissapointed in this game. The graphics are great and the multiplayer is very fun and engrossing, but that's about it.
The major faults were that the storyline, contrary to what many people claim, in no way ties into the plot in the books. But more importantly, you cannot play as Rand (the main character in the books). I would have given this game a far better score if you could.
Second of all, you cannot channel the One Power (a magic-like force) directly. Maybe it's just me, but the idea of not using your inborn ability to channel is rather stupid. Also, while men who can channel the Power play and important role in the books, there is almost no referance to them in the game so far as I have played. It would be awesome if you could encounter an insane male channeler and confront him (a dangerous situation, considering that in the books men are generally more powerful channelers than women).
Thirdly, adapting WOT into a first person shooter was a decidely bad idea. A format such as that in "Dungeon Siege" would have been far more desirable.
However, if you have not read WOT, or are not a Wheel of Time fanatic, this is a fun and engrossing game.

Summary: Get gyped?
Review: This game is really fun,but it would be a five star if you could play as Rand in single player mode.

Summary: Wheel of time ROCKS!
Review: this game all out rocks. the sound quality may be cheesy but it rocks. join clans at: wotclans.com. Edit maps, protect citadels and have your own server for people to play on. Arena is cool:every man for them selves and citadel is even better: play on whichever team you want. THIS IS THE GAME TO HAVE.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A challange, but still amazing
Review: This game was awesome. The graphics are stunning as are the effects. It is very difficult, but very rewarding once you have beaten it.
