Review: At present I am a TEST SITE. I have tested many of these such programs. Most have been DOWNLOADED FREE TRIALS. But after I get them installed they tell the users nothing. By this I mean what to do to set up OPTIMIZED UNIT.
Then if they do it and they don't like it, will unit be returned to old status? Next can I buy this over PHONE as I would like a full version with manual and CD. I don't want a FULL DOWNLOADED VERSION that I don't know how to setup. Can I get a DOWNLOADED TRIAL VERSION TO TRY ALSO.

Summary: A partial fix.
Review: I bought Memturbo because my Win98 system crashes frequently. The sales literature on the Memturbo website claims that the program will prevent these crashes. Anything reasonable that would prevent these annoyances would be worth it.

My experience has been that Memturbo does actually free up memory as claimed, but it definitely does not keep my system from crashing. It seems powerless to prevent Mr. Bill Gates wonderful operating system from its periodic seizures.

Although Memturbo does free up memory, it frees up much less than I would expect. I have a 128 MB system, but if I trigger Memturbo to free up memory, I get a total of only about 30-40 MB free, even if I have no other programs running. Perhaps this is a configuration problem or a matter of symantics, if Memturbo means that at least 30-40 MB is free. However, the Memturbo help files shed no light on this.

One warning: if I configure Memturbo to trigger a memory free-up immediately after system startup, Memturbo causes its own system seizure. The program apparently tries to free up memory while some of my startup programs are still running in the foreground, causing a fatal conflict.

Memturbo and similar programs would be totally unnecessary if the richest man in the world would provide us with properly debugged software in the first place. Unfortunately, the efforts of the Memturbo programmers to fix the problems caused by Mr. Gates minions are just not sufficient. Windows 98 still crashes. Frequently.

Review: I downloaded MemTurbo II for free at download.com. I have been using it for over a year. I would say that it works ok, but I am not sure if it is causing my memory loss problems then fixing them or what. I am using WindowsMe, which I have been told has memory handling problems in itself.

MemTurbo appears to free up memory when I use it. After using programs, I run MemTurbo, and sometimes I regain anywhere from 10 to 50 MB of RAM. I have 256 MB of total RAM and WinMe operates with the normal backrgound programs at about 150 MB free.

The best suggestion I have is to not have it run on start up, but rather turn it on when you need it. Run the program and then turn it off. Also, don't run any other memory free programs at the same time, they will definitely confilct and crash your system.

On a MS Newsgroup, it was suggested that my memory problems were caused by MemTurbo and that I should remove it. The helping person wrote that once I remove the program, then he would further help me with my WinMe memory problems. Sounds like it is bad if you listen to him.

The best thing to do is to upgrade your OS to Win2000 or WinXP. These OS's don't need the help of memory enhancers.

MOST IMPORTANT, YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT FOR FREE FROM DOWNLOAD.COM (a C/NET Company). I don't work for them.

Summary: Wonferful Software - Highly Recommended
Review: I had been having no end of trouble with my computer, crashing all the time and being generally far too slow for what I thought I had invested in it. A friend recommended that I try MemTurbo. What excellent advice!

After installing MemTurbo and doing a scrub my system perked right up. It also stopped the spontaneous crashing I had been experiencing. A tech told me that I likely have a device driver with a bug in it that crashes under low memory, and MemTurbo prevents this. Works for me!

Do yourself a favor and pick up this excellent package. Compare the price to your PC's price, and you quickly realize that any significant improvement for under 50 bucks is a big win!

Summary: disappointment in Memturbo
Review: I had recently bought a copy of Memturbo via the internet. However, after installing it, I realised that my computer is more prone to hanging than before. I e-mailed the technical support team of Memturbo for advises, but till to date, I have not heard anything from them.

I feel that I was being cheated. Although the company has a 30-day money back guarantee, they simply refused to reply your e-mail when you asked for a refund.

I am very disappointed with Memturbo.
