Review: After reading these reviews, this sounds like the software I need. The question I have is: Does this software also switch to accomodate the left handed player as well?
If it does, its sold!

Review: Guitar Method gives you a lot of useful techniques for learning guitar. I was very impressed with how easy it made it. I've already got a few songs under my belt.

Summary: Superb - a must for any beginner!
Review: Having no knowledge of the guitar this program was perfect for getting me started. It is very complete and really steps you through the basics, chords, picking and playing songs. It is well worth the price considering how far it takes you. If you already play, this CD-ROM is packed with material.

Review: I got a box with only a songs cd for macintosh. That's all that was in the box. To top it off I don't have a mac. I am running a pentium with windows. This is not good.

Summary: Fun learning with songs.
Review: I've been learning guitar from Guitar Method for about 3 months now and am very happy with my progress. The information is laid out in a very intuitive/easy to follow way. The lessons all progress very logically and keep you interested. Best of all, you learn with easy fun songs that make it a lot of fun. Right off the bat, you've got songs to practice the techniques you're learning. As the difficulty in techniques progresses, so do the songs. I'm already to the point where I can play Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan songs. It's a definite must have if you're learning guitar.

Summary: Loads of material. You"ll be inspired for months.
Review: I've been using the Emedia Guitar CD-ROM for almost five months now and my progress is remarkable. Each newly taught guitar skill is backed up with songs and exercises to practice and refine that technique. My only problem with this product is the recorder is no better than the one included with most computers. The other built-in features (tuner, metronome and chord dictionary) are all very helpful. I've been going to a lot of free guitar tab sites and the chord dictionary is a great help for all those chords I haven't learned yet and are rarely written out. There is also a way to slow down any song on the program, which is very helpful now that I'm working on some more difficult stuff.

I highly recommend this for anyone serious about learning.
