Summary: The Best Web Production Package On The Market
Review: As my title says, this product can't be beat for price, value, or quality.

Let's start with Dreamweaver MX. The ability to do PHP is a plus for me, but the addition of ASP.NET is incredible - you can write VB.NET or even C#. Macromedia beat out Microsoft's own Visual Studio.NET as a better product back in March. MX is now 508 compliant - something necessary in government contracts. Basically Macromedia combined 5 different products into one for Dreamweaver MX.

Flash MX is making great strides as well. You can now cut and paste from text boxes. It is also 508 compliant. The layout has made great strides (like every other MX product), and it is customizable. You can also edit bitmap images from Flash inside of Fireworks. You also don't have to waste time attempting to create things like scroll bars or radio buttons. These can be simply dragged and dropped into your movie as standard components.

Fireworks MX is another grand addition. The popup menu feature is vastly improved. You can easily control the dimensions, location and appearance of the popups. You can also easily make horizontal popups. The layout is again a great highlight. It still beats Imageready.

Freehand 10 is included...wow. I know that many people in the illustration realm like Adobe's Illustrator, but Freehand works superbly with Flash.

What can I say? There is real convergence going on here. It's a product that an entire IT department can be pleased with. It's also great for individual designers.

Summary: Best of class
Review: Best of class but,
Lost one star as I wish macromedia gave people who bought it a free upgrade to the next version which includes contribute. Not fair to put out the great extra 6 months later and not provide it to those who bought the upgrade 6 months ago.

Summary: M a X ium POWER! Studio MX RULES!
Review: I have tried tons design packages and I can safely say that you will not find a more professional, easy to use, and felxable design suite anywhere. Period! There is not enough time to go into all of it's awesome features, but Studio MX is a designers and a programmers dream come true. Macromedia has done an EXCELLENT job of integrating all of the software applications, making them seem almost seemless and like one big program. To anyone out there looking to get into web design this is your tool. This Studio MX comes with TONS OF TUTORIALS/LESSONS to help you become an expert quickly. It has Fireworks, which is better than photoshop for web graphics, It has Freehand which is a great vector drawing program, Flash for interface design and rich internet applications, last but not least Dreamweaver MX. If you're a would be designer or a designer looking for new software this is all you will ever need.

Summary: Cream of the Crop
Review: If you are serious about working on the web whether novice or professional, you cannot get any better than the Macromedia products. I've owned the suite since the second version was out and, with the exception of Adobe PhotoShop, the Macromedia products are the ONLY thing I ever use.

Dreamweaver MX continues the tradition of creating seamless code so you have to do very little tweeking - only if you know how and need to do so! It integrates the former Dreamweaver 4 with UltraDev 4 into one package so that you can create dynamic web sites. It saves me so much time in coding and I can trust that it will not add extensions that are not viewable by all, such as the Frontpage product. It has roundtrip HTML, meaning you can easily add your own code, modify existing code, etc. without any problems at all.

The interface is quite interesting. No longer do you have pallets floating and taking up valuable screen real estate. Instead, it has moved to a more "tab" style architecture. This reduces the need for several small tool windows to be open at once. Instead, you have the tool bar along the top as a tab and along the right side are several windows that are minimized so that when you select the one you need, it simplly opens up. I believe that Adobe and Macromedia are going through some lawsuit about the windows, so, Macromedia merely improved upon the stale window technology to make it more effecienty and clutter free. I highly approve! Dreamweaver MX also has more robust features with added internal extensions to make your code bank stronger. The simple drag and drop method makes it so easy to use. I've used the MX version for about a month now (as a prerelease) and am thoroughly impressed. It's their greatest upgrade in many versions.

Flash MX and Fireworks MX simply build more functionality and makes life much easier. Flash MX makes advanced scripting easier with more functions and item examples that are already mini-movie clips.

The interface for all of the products are very easy to learn. I am a professional now, but have used the products prior to becoming professional and it has helped me to make my transition from professional counselor to full-time web developer a dream come true! If I can use it, ANYONE can!!

Summary: Customer Support Problems
Review: Macromedia generally has great products. I own many copies of Authorware, Director, and other Macromedia products for both MAC and IBM. Flash, however, did not run on my IBM machine. My gripe is the lack of quality technical support. I was refered to tech notes that did not fix my problem, I entered a incident which was cleared without my approval and without the problem being repaired, and I still don't have this product running several days after the purchase. Like all too many companies today, if it doesn't work out of the box, you may be stuck. I say, if it doesn't work, don't pay for it!!!!!!

Summary: VERY VERY GOOD, BUT WITH A POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT SERVICE
Review: Superb and beautifully integrated, the individual components of this "Macromedia Studio MX Upgrade" are powerful, and at the same time very easy to use. Both Web professionals and amateurs were thought of during the design of this suite.
Boasting of prominent items like: Flash MX, Flash Player, FreeHand, Fireworks MX, Dreamweaver MX, and a developer edition of ColdFusion MX Server, this suite remains one of the best set of open-development-tools we have today. The only precaution intending buyers should entertain is that Macromedia bestowed so much confidence on this product that they didn't bother to back it up with a good Customer Support Service. This package is not cheap; and if you ever have the misfortune of needing technical support, you will regret spending your money on it. But, the good news is that (unless you are a novice) the chances of your needing technical assistance is very remote.

Summary: Macromedia Studio MX-Win
Review: This is the best Dreamweaver update yet. I've been using on Dreamweaver since version 2. The ability to create dynamic sites without handcoding is a plus. The code is not as clean as what I would do for ASP and ColdFusion, but if you start with the code generated by Dreamweaver and cleanup the redundancies end up ahead of the game and save considerable time.
The rest of the MX Suite has some nice tools. The update to Fireworks and Flash are the two most prominent and they integrate well with the rest of the suite.

Summary: Macromedia Studio MX-Win Upgrade
Review: This product is a good deal for me.
Since I own Flash, Dreamweaver, Ultradev, Fireworks, I
don't have to upgrade for each of these products.

I also get FreeHand.

I have been used Dreamweaver since version 3.0
Now I can use this product to produce ASP, JSP, PHP codes.
