Summary: Saw it on VCD
Review: I saw this movie on VCD and it rocked, for those who is a fan of The Young and Dangerous, this story ties right in. Instead of being a story about the guys in The Young and Dangerous, it's about the girls.

Summary: descent......Ekin's a cameo..
Review: This movie is a spin-off of ever popular Goo Wat Jai aka Young And Dangerous series. The story focuses on Sister 13, the lesbian branch leader of Hung Hing ( if u've seen Born to be king, she marries someone). Movie focuses on her struggles, relationships with other characters and more. Surprisingly, Kristy Yeung, Hsu Chi both turned in a great performances. ( i always thought they dont kno how to act). But the film itself takes too much time exploring characters so it ends with a show of Hung Hing Solidarity. Film ties up too conveniently, but acting and character driven elements are top notched.

definitely check it out if you're Y&D fan

Summary: Very enjoyable sequel, but not quite Young and the Dangerous
Review: This movie was actually rather enjoyable. I had been caught up alot on the hype of the Young and the Dangerous series, and had heard that this movie was quite good as well, and it did not disappoint.

The picture was much improved over the Y&D series which i had seen on VHS, so i was quite impressed with the quaity of this dvd.
Features were lacking though, as with all asian dvds.
However you get the basics, such as scene access, limited previews and subs etc.

Onto the movie, Portland street blues is basically the chickie version of Y&D, and by chickie i dont mean chick flick, its just essentially a similiar 'ganster' type movie, only with chicks taking charge of the main jobs and roles instead of what was seen in Y&D. Overall the characters are pretty well done, with some nice interacts between them throughout the movie which proves not only interesting but quite dramatic in some parts.

Portland Street Blues however seems to focus less on the vengeance/action part which Y&D so successfully hinged itself on, and focus' more on the characters and their relationships.

Quite an interesting contrast, and definately worth a view, but dont expect another Y&D or else you'll be left quite disappointed.
