Summary: Squeeze the Life Out of ME!
Review: The first James Bond picture starring the suave Pierce Brosnan is one to never forget. Oops, 'Never Say Never Again'! James Bond loses his partner, 006 Alec Trevylan and he moves on with his mission. Satellite systems in Russia are controlled by Goldeneye, a specially made key that controls the safety of the world. Janus is a secret operative that has no face and is the head of this operation. James Bond runs into Natalya, an operator for the computer systems. Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) is way too hot and is the best Bond girl ever. Look at that smile! Woo-ness! Especially the part in the casino at the beginning of the movie and the sauna room scene! It's the hottest ever! Famke Janssen is the best woman to have hit the big screen since I don't know! Drive that Ferrari! Oh yeah, back to the movie. Janus is unmasked and it will shock you. There are plenty of action scenes that deliver and Bond knows how to use a tank! Major kaboom-age and the climactic scene on the satellite is a shocker. Man, but I was distressed with the tree that crunched Xenia. It was a tear-jerker. Xenia, goddess and Natalya, no. But, truly, this is an excellent Bond film and has brought on a new generation to embrace the secret agent man!

Summary: Slightly rambling plot, great action filmmaking.
Review: What distinguishes GoldenEye from its 007 predecessors is the high-octane action sequences. Sure, James Bond movies tend to have sky-high budgets and high-tech gizmos to play with, not to mentioned a pop-culture icon as its main character, but GoldenEye's fiery action sequences nearly rival the best of John Woo's, even on the small screen. Director Martin Campbell knows his action, and everything from the gunfights to the vehicle stunts is superbly done. In fact, the only problem is that at times there's almost too much of it. As flawless the execution is, it leaves one with no sense of contrast, and the film seems to pay only cursory attention to the quieter, character-building scenes.

No matter. Pierce Brosnan does quite well as the latest Bond, making up with boyish charm what he (completely) lacks in high-class suave. Famke Janssen falls flat on her face as prototypical bad Bond girl Xenia. The best of the Bond vixens, from Ursula Andress to Grace Jones, create a love/hate chemistry with 007, straddling the line between sexy seductiveness and dangerous betrayal. In Janssen's case, all she gets across is an annoying, over-the-top pretense towards S&M perversity, neither sexy nor threatening, just deeply offensive, stinking up the screentime. Thank God then we have Izabella Scorupco as Russian computer programmer Natalya, who is possibly the best in a laudable line of smarter, more active Bond love interests, besting even Carey Lowell (License to Kill) and Michelle Yeoh (Tomorrow Never Dies). Sean Bean makes a good adversary with his controlled, subtle villainy, refraining from the campy overkill that had made Jonathan Pryce so unbearable in Tomorrow Never Dies.

The plot gets tangled sometimes and there's some clumsiness in bringing the various plot strands together (the GoldenEye main plot and Bond's tracking of Xenia's organization, for example, are wound together in an awkward way), but since this is a Bond movie, those are probably secondary concerns. One last gripe, I will say, is that GoldenEye has one of the worst theme songs in the series, Tina Turner's performance flat and uninspired. Still, great adrenalized entertainment, signalling a new beginning to this unkillable film dynasty.

It is a good new Bond. Brosnan is the second best bond after Connery, so see this movie.

Summary: good movie
Review: this was an absolute turn around for James Bond, my favourite movie series of all time. Timothy Dalton was nothing, it wasn't the same with him. He was just some normal character, now, it's Peirce Brosnan who changes the whole Bond around, the best Bond yet. This movie was better than Tomorrow Never Dies, but I liked The World Is Not Enough the best, I still love that movie. AT parts of this movie, it's a bit dull, but who cares, it's James Bond. In this one, James Bond is after a traitor named General Ouromov, his good friend, who betrays him Trevelyan, and he meets a girl named Natalya, who knows a computer guy named Boris, who's also a traitor. Then, there's Mishkin, who thinks Bond is guilty for all the bombing. And there's Valintin, who doesn't know what to think, and doesn't treat Bond to good in this one, definetly not as good as in The World Is Not Enough. This is a definite turn around for Bond. Roger Moore was good, but not like Pierce Brosnan, they're both the same characters, put Brosnan's better and newer. Sean Connery was a good Bond as well, but not like Moore or Brosnan. Dalton was by far the worst, it's not Bond with him, ... . It's just your average movie with him. This movie, on the other hand was great!!! SEE it!!!

Summary: "Why can't you just be a good boy and die?"
Review: This is a fabulous and excellent James Bond film that blasts on to the screen as the first of the 90's Bond films. Excellent "teaser" with Bond jumping off a cliff to a mission with his fellow agent 006. The facility explodes and enter Tina Turner with her powerful and fabulous song Goldneye. I won't spoil the plot too much for you, but other villians include Xenia Onatop who takes pleasure in her work and strangles men to death with her thighs. (At least they die happy!) The bond girl is Natayla, who helps bond on the computers at the end of the film. I have seen this film 137 times and it deserves a 6 out of a 5.

Summary: Bond is back!
Review: After a 6 year hiatus, the James Bond franchise was brought back to life by dirctor Martin Campbell (The Mask of Zorro). With Pierce Brosnan as the new Bond, the series was given a new harder edge, with great action, stunts and cool cars. Sean Bean is great as Alex Trevalyn, a former agent (006) turned enemy and Famke Janssen is the movie's female villianess. Judi Dench is brought in as the new "M" along with Samantha Bond as Moneypenny.

Brosnan is superb as the charming vodka martini- drinking Bond, with witty lines and he takes the character away from the coldness of Timothy Dalton. The action ante is upped considerably from the lacklustre Licence to Kill (1989), with some great set-pieces including tanks, trains and of course, big bangs. It is a Bond film after all, and the action is riddled with witty one-liners. Add a stomping title-track from Tina Turner, sharp editing courtesy of Terry Rawlings and Desmond Llewelyn as "Q", who has starred in every Bond film except Dr NO (1962) and Live and Let Die (1973). Arguably the best bond film, it is most certainly the biggest.

Summary: GOLDENEYE KICKS BEHIND
Review: Pierce Brosnan's first movie is a huge success. I loved it. The characters, the plot, everything was perfect. Probably not the best one in the series and not the best Bond, but still excellant for a new Bond. I loved the tank scene. If you want a Bond movie with lots and lots of action, see Goldeneye.

Summary: Bond for the new World
Review: Before this movie, most Bond films had to do with the cold war. In previous movies, he drove Aston Martins, and M was a guy. Now, the cold war is over, BMWs are his vehicle, and the new M is played by Judi Dench in one of the best 007 movies ever. It is about how Bond must save the world from a deadly satelite weapon in the hands of Janus, the leader of a crime syndacate. But when Bond learns of Janus's true identity, the film goes off in a whole new direction. This is a wonderful film, but the one flaw is that he doesn't use ANY of the gadgets in his new car, and in all the other films, he uses every one. All in all, this is a great movie, and if you are a fan of action/adventure, you don't want to miss this one.

Summary: The best Bond picture yet
Review: I love this movie. I haven't enjoyed a James Bond film as much as this one since Goldfinger. It revamps Bond for the new millenium, making him a bit more of an action hero as well. There are very few things to pick holes in with this ilm. I loved the directing by Martin Campbell (it almsot looks kind of Luc besson-ish), The acting on Pierce's part was amazing, the badguys were pretty bad, and the music by the amazing Eric Serra was stellar. The only thing that is wrong with this flick is it drags a little in parts. When a movie is 2 hours 10 minutes, it's hard to keep every seond of it interesting. This movie does a pretty good job, but it does get a bit boring from time to time, mostly when Bond isn't on screen. If you like your action fast, your cars hot, your women hotter, and your one-liners cheesier, look no further than the best Bond flick yet, Goldeneye.
