Summary: A Great Mixture of Action, Comedy, Drama, Romance, Fantasy
Review: Sounds too good to be true, but this is a perfect blend of all of the above. A film that would never get made in the U.S. A great performance by Chow. Excellent gunplay scenes and one of the more touching romances. One of Chow's best outside of the John Woo/Ringo Lam films. Highly Recommended.

Rating: 5 stars

Summary: Pleasantly Surprised
Review: The versatile Chow Yun Fat once again shows that he's capable of delivering action, comedy and romance in one character. I was pleasantly suprpised at the extent to which this movie is entertaining. It is now a part of my collection.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Definitely a Tresurable Hunt!
Review: This movie isn't a perfect blend of action, comedy, drama and romance, but it still works despite it's slightly too uneven mix. (Thus, I actually give this four and a half stars, but the rating bar doesn't allow halves.)
Chow Yun Fat is a gorgeously charismatic scene stealer whether being a killer, comedian or gushing romantic.

Summary: HUH? WHAT?
Review: This movie just does not know where to go. It starts out as a gun/mob/government action movie. Then changes briefly to a family values movie. Next, a conflict of western/eastern mores and values. Then, becomes a love story with a lot of very cheesy jokes. And, increasingly, becomes a mystery, fantasy. Almost none of the characters including Chow Yun Fat maintain any kind of consistency in their behavior. Some are cruel, then kind or vice versa. Some are silly and then become very clever. Mr. Fat is all of the above. There are some nice visuals occaisionally. The major climactic scene involves a massive shootout that is totally unbelievable. By the time the romantic end arrives, I really didn't care.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: some cheese but overall highly entertaining
Review: typical of hk cinema...you got romance comedy and action all wrapped into one...with some cheese on top. the monks in baseball uniforms was a bit much and the gun battle at the beginning was also a bit corny...but the rest of the movie was highly entertaining....chow and the heroine have great chemistry and the little kid was great as well...
