Summary: THE LAST GOOD BATMAN MOVIE
Review: THIS TIME, THE CAPED CRUSADER [VAL KILMER] MUST STOP TWO FACE [TOMMY LEE JONES] AND THE RIDDLER [JIM CARREY] FROM DESTROYING GOTHAM WITH A BRAIN DRAINING DEVICE. MEANWHILE, BATMAN STARTS TO FIND A PARTNER IN DICK GRAYSON AKA ROBIN [CHRIS O DONNEL]. THIS WAS THE LAST OF THE GOOD BATMAN MOVIES. VAL KILMER ACTUALLY WASN'T THAT BAD OF A BATMAN AND CHRIS O DONNEL WASN'T THAT BAD OF A ROBIN NEITHER. THE MOVIE WAS ENTERTAINING. I'MA SAY THIS RIGHT NOW, THE NEXT BATMAN MOVIE COMPLETELY MURDERED THIS SERIES.

Summary: More Heroes please
Review: It is said of this film, that people watch Batman for the villians. However, I found Val Kilmer's portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman to be one of the better performances of the Dark Knight. Yes jim Carey as the Riddler was astounding, howver lets not forget that it is a batman film, not a villian peice.

Summary: A good modern Batman movie...
Review: Batman was sort of slow-paced, Batman Returns was dark and disgusting, and Batman Forever is not either. Instead it is a fun adventure which introduces circus teen who lost family named Robin (yes, Robin was actually in the circus). Val Kilmer is a better person for the Batman role than Michael Keaton. he sounds almost identical to the original but has better looks (shing, shing) and more of a dark person. The funny Riddler (played by Jim Carey!) and Two-Face the psycotic want Batman dead so they can suck people's IQs with a television device that makes them in the show and take their knowledge (typical Batman plot). This is a fun adventure that beats the old Superman movies by alot!

Summary: Better than it is reputed to be
Review: Before director Joel Schumacher ruined the Batman film series with 1997's Batman & Robin; he made his Batman directorial debut with Batman Forever. With original director Tim Burton (who stayed on as producer) gone along with star Michael Keaton, the film allready had a lot going against it, but on it's own it is a solid action comic themed blast. Val Kilmer plays the caped crusader this time around, and he faces off against the Riddler (Jim Carrey) and Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) and eventually teams up with Robin (Chris O' Donnell) while wooing the oh so hot Dr. Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman). Kilmer proves to be a good Batman, but he isn't as convincing as Keaton was. Carrey is great as the Riddler, and I can't picture anyone else (Robin Williams was originally considered for the part) playing him. Jones overacts quite a bit as the maniacal Two-Face, and O'Donnell seems a bit wasted as the boy wonder. The film boasts gorgeous, albeit overdone, set pieces and cinematography, and all together Batman Forever was the last good Batman film before the ludicrous and utterly terrible Batman & Robin.

Summary: The best Batman movie Ever made!
Review: This is a great movie and is one of the best superhero movies EVER made.Val Kilmer,Chris O'Donnel,Tommy Lee Jones,and especially Jim Carrey are great in their roles and Nicole actually is pretty good in this as well!5 stars!

Summary: Last good Batman movie
Review: This third movie had a completely different feel than the first two movies. Tim Burton used mostly shades of grey to give Gotham and dark, creepy feel to it (as is typical of his style). On top of that, his constant partner Danny Elfman's soundtrack completed the atmosphere. This movie was a prelude to Batman & Robin, with all of its bright colors and a scope that is way too broad to be taken very seriously. The first two movies are obviously better, but Burton stayed on-board as a producer, so it wasn't as bad as the later movies in the series. As far as acting goes, Val Kilmer is believable, but Michael Keaton is better. With Jim Carrey, Tommy Lee Jones, Nicole Kidman, Chris O'Donnell, and Michael Gough returning as Alfred, it has a very good cast going for it. Add to that small roles from Drew Barrymore and Debi Mazar. Anyway, here we have the lost link between the great early movies, and the horrible later movie.

Side Note: Notice Jim Carrey swinging that staff all over the place. Now watch Cable Guy's Medieval Times scene with that big axe thing. Looks like he learned a new skill after Batman Forever. Dumb note, but whatever.

Summary: Pretty good, I must say...
Review: While it doesn't leave the lasting impression that the first and second Batman films did, Batman Forever is a heck of a good time. I think it's the most action-packed of the four films and it also has the best storyline. However, it is admittedly a little too bright and obviously tried to appeal to little kids so that Mc Donalds could sell a lot of Batman happy meals.

The story is great. Unlike the first two Batflicks, the central focus isn't on defeating a villainous troublemaker out to make Gotham City miserable; rather, it's main theme is Bruce Wayne's troubling conscience asking himself if what he's doing every night is actually helping make the city safer and, in doing so, helping him cope with what happened to his parents at the hand of a vicious thug in a dark alley all those years ago. I remember when I first saw this in theaters, I actually got a little upset when Bruce was turning his equipment off in the Batcave.

The acting is pretty good. Jim Carrey arguably turns in the best performance as the campy Riddler. Mr. Freeze's character in Batman & Robin mistakenly went the campy route, but the Riddler isn't a tragic figure like Victor Freis, so it works. Two-Face, on the other hand, was a little too silly. It seems as if Tommy Lee Jones took a course in "Jack Nicholson 101," because the character seems to be branded from the Joker in the first film. This isn't the way Two-Face is supposed to act. Was anyone really happy when Freddy Krueger started acting like a goofball in the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels? I wasn't. I liked the original character better. Two-Face is no exception. He's much deeper than this in the comics.

Val Kilmer is pretty good as Batman, but not as good as Michael Keaton. Mr. Keaton is Batman in the same sense that Sean Connery is James Bond, so whoever fills the Batshoes after Keaton, I must take that person with a grain of salt. So like I said, Kilmer's good. Chris O'Donnell is the first person to play Robin in this series, so I can't compare him to anyone else (unless I want to throw Burt Ward into the mix). He's not bad; just a little on the whiny side. This annoying attribute would develop even further in the next sequel, Batman & Robin. And then we have Chase Meridian, Batman's love interest. Nicole Kidman does what she's supposed to do: To act sexy and help Batman come to terms with his vengeful struggle. Bravo. Michael Gough is great as always as Alfred the butler; Commissioner Gordon (Pat Hingle) isn't used to his full potential yet AGAIN; and Drew Barrymore and Debi Mazar as Sugar and Spice are absolutely wasted.

All in all, I really enjoyed this movie. I watched it countless times when I was younger, so the nostalgic value it has is a plus. But it's hard to watch a post-Returns Batman film and not think back on how beautiful the first two movies looked. And Elliot Goldenthal's score can't hold a candle to Danny Elfman's classic theme. But, the first two are bonafide classics in my eyes, so I can't really quibble with Batman Forever's differences. Flawed, but solid entertainment no matter what I said.

Summary: Holy metal rocks Batman!
Review: This is the third movie to the Batman movies. But the sad thing is Keaton isn't Batman, it's Val Kilmer. The dark edge isn't there but the villains are more evil then ever. Like the last one Batman faced two villains, he faces Two-Face a man who doesn't care about anyone else he just want's to kill Batman at any cost, next there is the Riddler a man who is gives out insane hard riddles every crime he does, he also want's to kill Bruce Wayne. Batman is not alone though, he has Robin to help him on his quest. The movie stays very true to the comics and is kind of funny, most people will like it and kids will love it. So enjoy!

Summary: The best costume design appeared in this movie....
Review: Bob Ringwood, the costume designer on all the Batman movies, brought some slight changes to the costume in each Batman feature. In Batman Forever, he tried as much as he could to make the costume look good. It was more streamlined in this movie. Trying to get rid of the too bulky apperance that it had when Michael Keaton wore it in the first two movies. It was large and it took Val Kilmer a lot of effort to wear it through different scenes. It was hot, and so the film sets had to be cooled down enough so that he could move and perform without over-heating himself in the suit during the various fight scenes.
Both the traditional Batman costume and the special design one that had a silver look to it, were used in this movie, and while they looked pretty good, it was also a sign of the over-kill silver/bulky costumes that would forever ruin the movies in the last (and most forgetable) film that followed, Batman and Robin.
