Summary: This is what I use, this is what I trust.
Review: I burn a lot of music. When I first got my CD-burner, I wasn't exactly cautious about what brands to use. I started off with a lot of the cheap 25 pack no-names (the kind you find dirt cheap at [a local store]) thinking, "they're all the same, how can the quality be any different?" Well, even though THOSE brands initially recorded the data just fine, I noticed a decrease in sound quality and my DVD player that I just got (Which I now use as a CD player) will not read those old discs (It is specified to play any type of CD-R, and even has a built in MP3 player). But the Memorex brand has been faithful to me. These discs work in every CD player I have tested them in, and the sound quality is crisp, clear and all around excellent (In the bargain brands I mentioned, the music sounded too "digital"). They are very affordable and you get a lot for your money. The only downside I can think of is that you don't get any jewel cases to store these in, but I don't use those, so it's not a problem.

Oh yeah, the colors are really entertaining if you have a short attention span.

Summary: Memorex = short life time. Be warned !
Review: I own some cd-r's that were recorded about 3-4 years ago on Memorex 2x4x CD-R with the "is it live" breaking glass logo.

These cd-r's have been stored dry and dark. Initially they were fine.

I can throw them all away now. The cd's have become unreadable by any of my 5 audio cd players, and my pc is also not able to read them anymore.

Thank you Memorex - NOT! I can not recommend Memorex brand cd-r's to anybody.
