Summary: A Modern Comedic Classic
Review: Robert Townsend's comic send-up to all the divas and wannabe divas everywhere, "Jackie's Back" is pure camp at its best.

Character actress extraordinaire Jennifer Lewis is wonderful in the title role of a child star's meteoric rise to fame as a singer in the entertainment industry and her just as quick descent into obscurity as an adult. Full of non-stop laughs and witty one-liners, the movie is further enhanced by the expert supporting cast; the guest cameo appearances are an added bonus and a real hoot.

Definitely one of director Townsend's best, I must have watched this film three times in a row and still got something new and enjoyable out it. The upbeat finale will have you singing along. Run, don't walk to get this one!!

Summary: "LOOK AT ME"
Review: The one and only Jennifer Lewis, blew me away with this movie.
this movie is one of the most funniest things i have ever seen.
Although i didnt like the ending that much, everything else was
unbelievably hillarious! Right ON Jackie!!

Jackie's Back deserves a sequel..........

Summary: JENIFER LEWIS SHINES!!!!!!
Review: There is so much that is great about this mockumentary, but the best part is Jenifer Lewis. Besides being a hilarious comedian, skilled actress, she is an amazing singer. The cameos are great and this is definitely a movie that one can watch over and over and over and over again and enjoy.

Summary: Now my favorite movie...
Review: This is a funny movie. I think Jennifer Lewis finally found the perfect role here. I purchased this after renting it a couple of times. It's the type of movie I'll play once or twice a month easily. I can't wait for "Jackie's Back (again)--the sequel", though I realize that will never happen.

Summary: Make it a double, Entendre!
Review: This is not a movie that's so bad it's good. This is a very funny movie, especially knowing it was made for Lifetime. Jenifer Lewis is hysterical as Jackie - she's over-the-top, especially as Aphrodite in a Nightie and in all her drunk scenes. Most of the other performances in the movie are spot-on, and there are some hysterically inspired moments with, believe it or not, Whoopi Goldberg and Isabel Sanford. The treacly ending (when it does turn into a Lifetime movie) notwithstanding, this is a funny mock-documentary about an over-the-hill black diva who never really was anyone to begin with. Tell your friends and your play mama to check this out.

Summary: Oh my god,
Review: This is the kind of movie that when your watching it your asking yourself, "Why am I watching this move?!" It's so terrible that it's good!

Summary: Funny movie...
Review: This is, now, my favorite movie. Actually, it gets funnier every time I see it. You always catch different things like Jennifer's facial expressions that you may have missed before. A great buy for any movie buff.

A side note, the DVD has no bonus features.

Summary: Hey play mama, remember me?
Review: This movie is a hoot. I had forgot all about this film, until last week, when I went over a friends house and they were watching it. Jennifer Lewis is great in this mock-documentry. If you have not seen Jackie's Back. Please rush out and get it. I am buying it now. Thank you, Say No More!

Summary: Top-notch music and comedy
Review: This movie is so well-loved by everyone who sees it, that when I sing the theme song "Yield" in public, everyone immediately recognizes it (and laughs). Definitely the funniest comedy ever...why it wasn't released to theaters is a mystery. Wish we had a soundtrack album with all the great songs.
