Rating: 5 stars
Summary: great war movie
Review: This was an excellent movie with a great cast. Even though it was made in 1989 it has the picture quality of a current film.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I kick myself for not watching 'Glory' in the theaters!
Review: I saw 'Glory' when I was still in high school, and remembered thinking that it was the best movie I've seen up to that point. Not only did it have an engaging story and wonderful acting, it was also techincally excellent. I was amazed witht he sound and cinematography, even though it was only a VHS tape! For those of you who saw the movie in a theater: I envy you!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Movie and DVD are both stunning
Review: Watching Glory in DVD is reason enough to purchase a DVD player. The soundtack in Dolby Digital 5.1 is perfect; if you have a nice set of speakers and a large subwoofer you will be rewarded. As for the film, suffice to say, it is a classic. The last scene when Broderick & Company charge up the hill, knowing that they will most likely die, will bring tears to your eyes. After watching this film for the millionth time, it makes me even more proud of the bravery and courage shown by all of our troops in past wars and even more disgusted by our current commander-in-chief WJC, who chose to smoke weed in Russia rather than fight in Vietnam.

Summary: SPECTACULAR!!!
Review: The movie GLORY really makes you appreciate our nation's history. It gives a riviting perspective of reality in those times. I am 21 years old and have served in the military (Navy). It's movies like GLORY that capture the soul and imagination as well as the sense of reality to anyone unfamiliar with what happened in the Civil War. It shows what people lived through and how they dealt with those times and events.

I also thought that Matthew Broderick's performance was worth an Oscar and that the music score by James Horner was breathtaking.

Summary: The Civil War from a Different Perspective
Review: This movie held my interest throughout. Not normally one to enjoy war movies, especially those of the Civil War, I was totally entranced from beginning to end. While Broderick has a tendency to play most roles "over the top", I found his portrayal of Shaw to be nicely understated. The scenes leading up to their final assault on the fort, will leave you with a lump in your throat. It is definitely a must see!

Summary: Intense, mezmorizing film!
Review: This movie will move you, and make you think about it for hours, days, years to come! As a soldier myself, I admire the strength and courage the 54th Massachussetts displayed! For those of you who don't like the movie due to its tragic ending, check out the real life story of Sgt. Rawlins (Morgan Freeman) and you will see he actually crawled out of Ft. Wagner and survived!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: "One of the most moving war films I have ever seen"
Review: I have seen alot of war movies in my time but few have touched me the way this one did. From the first sceen to the final climax, Glory will make you cheer and cry.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Civil War Brought Back to Reality!
Review: Although war will never be able to seem absolutely real, Glory has a way of making you a soldier of the Civil War. I felt as though I were the one going through boot camp or being stabbed at with a bayonet. If you're feeling rather depressed, DON'T pick this one of the shelf! Independence is Forever!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best movie ever made.
Review: There are a great number of excellent movies out there, but this one is the best. The cast is amazing. I have read the book that inspired this movie, and the film is for the most part, historically accurate. Everyone should see this movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The most moving film ever made according to world history.
Review: I saw this movie in history class and both actors Broderick and Washington were terrific. So were the other actors. I was very moved, and decided, that this movie should still be poular and it deserves more praise than the Titanic. This portrayal of history, makes us Americans appreciate The value of peace and life. I really liked the roles of Broderick for taking responsability for the 54th regiment. He knew he was going to either get wounded or die, but he knew his purpose. His purpose was to help the country to reunite, by whatever help he could do. That took his life. I mean watching him run through the gunfire, smoke, and the explosions to lead the men closer to attacking the confederate destination, really moved me, to see his determination inorder to capture that fort. This is and will always be my best movie!!!!!!!
