Summary: I think that "Glory" is one of the best movies ever made.
Review: I truly believe that this movie might be the greatest movie ever created. I have seen the movie five times, and I never tire of watching it. The music is truly magnificent, and only furthers the emotional effect that the movie alone puts on you. Since I received the "Glory" soundtrack two Christmas' ago, I always have it playing in my room. James Horner did an amazing job on it, and the Boys Choir of Harlem did a fantastic job as well. All the acting was excellent and everything else flowed together so smoothly. My only regret is that I never had the chance to see "Glory" in the theatre, since I am only 16. I think it would be a fantastic idea to bring "Glory" back to the theatres as a 10th anniversary edition.

Summary: Excellent movie for any DVD collection
Review: This is an excellent movie both in story and in quality. It gives you very good insight about how the 54th Mass. unit went from a insignificant beginning to a historical ending.

Summary: One of the best stories ever told
Review: Flawlessley acted and complimented by a moving soundtrack. This movie will make you cry not out of sadness but of respect for the courage heroes like them show. More than just a movie.

Summary: A truly wonderful and heart-wrenching experience!
Review: When I first picked up this video in the video store, I really had no clue what it was about at all. It just looked interesting. When I watched the movie, I couldn't believe how truly magnificent this film actually was. I was incredulous that I hadn't heard about it before and that it hadn't seemingly done much at the box office. This movie is simply phenomenal. It shows the great courage of the African American soldiers who finally got their chance to prove themselves fighting in the Civil War for the Union Army and the end to slavery. It shows the horrible conditions, the preconceived white views of the black soldiers, and how, in the end, they are all simply courageous and honorable men (like most all soldiers in the Civil War) fighting for a cause they believed in. A must-see movie in every way! It will definitely bring tears to your eyes. The musical score is also fantastic and the acting is simply first-class all the way by Danny Glover, Denzel Washington, and Matthew Broderick.

Summary: Very moving film with great cinematography!
Review: From the opening scene until the very end, this movie displays the most beautiful cinematography of any I have ever seen. I developed a fondness for the characters and found myself rooting for them throughout the movie. I believe the final scene says it all in a metaphor. It makes me cry every time I watch it.

Summary: COME ON 54!!!!!!
Review: POWERFUL, GRIPPING, AND INTENSIFYING. AN UNFORGETABLE WAR EPIC

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Exceptional depiction of courage and dedication
Review: An exceptional and fairly accurate depiction of an actual event in US history, it is all the more compelling. For a deep and detailed portrayal of human courage and dedication under the most difficult of circumstances, it is unmatched. From the training of the recruits into soldiers to their acceptance as Union troops, it is a moving story, well-told, well-acted. Rent it, Buy it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Historical oriented, but more about leadership.
Review: This movie is important for it's historical content. However the leadership techniques depicted are as current today as they were then. Matthew Broderick depicts a character that grows his leadership style over the course of the movie. The soldiers also show great understanding of their goals and importance of their "firstness." The movie plot can be related directly to the story of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier for baseball, and the story of the Japanese Americans that left their Utah concentration camps to become one of the most decorated divisions in WWII. Above all it's a story of Americans willing to give up their lives for their belief in what our country is supposed to stand for.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: History, honor, and courage on film.
Review: This film captures the fear and uncertainty of the civil war at that time. The men of the 54th showed great courage in sacrificing themselves for a nation that at that time didn't know what to do with them, or for them. Our nation must never forget the sacrifices made to keep our nation whole.
