Summary: Now I Want Candy, and I Don't Know Why!
Review: I bought this DVD set the first day it was available, and have been totally delighted with it. I am hoping that the remaining episodes are released on DVD quickly. ATHF is the funniest and weirdest cartoon to come along in years (perhaps in my lifetime). I view it as the logically absurdist avant-garde successor of Monty Python for silliness and irreverence, without having to resort to excessive profanity or scatological humor like some recent cartoons have (for instance, South Park). The weekly adventures of Frylock, Meatwad, and Shake (not to mention longsuffering Carl) have become the TV highlight of the week in my house, and the DVD set contains many of the most brilliant, including my personal favorites, the Mooninite episodes. Of all the episodes in the set, there is only one (the Doll episode) that I am not especially fond of. In addition to the Mooninites and Plutonians, I love the 'Bus of the Undead' episode ("Dracula's not IN the bus...he IS the bus...the BUS OF THE UNDEAD!")

Overall my only minor critique item would be that I would have liked to have seen more extras, especially unused footage, but this is a relatively minor quibble. Overall, this is my favorite show, and the set is a bargain for what you get!

Summary: Insane, and that's okay...
Review: Much of what I'm going to say has already been said, but I want to underscore certain points. This is a polarizing show--you either love it or hate it. The kind of humor here is akin somewhat to that of "The Kids in The Hall," the Canadian sketch comedy series. It's absurdist, but if the first 5 seconds of it doesn't leave you scrambling for the remote (you know, because Baywatch might be on), then chances are you'll giggle yourself onto the floor. The humor is dry, sometimes dark, and sometimes, as John Stewart would say... "WHAA!?"

Standouts on this set are both "Mooninites" and the "Leprechaun" episodes. The former, especially, features some of the most screwed up and inspired writing you'll ever see on television.

Summary: Great, of course, but sadly missing 2 episodes?
Review: very dissapointing that this has all of Season 1 and all of Season 2-except for 2 episodes: "Mail Order Bride" and "The Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past From The Future"
Cybernetic Ghost is one of the best episodes...
This is otherwise great, although the commentary is pretty lame. Each episode gets better each time you watch it. I can see someone not liking it much on the first watch, but after a few watches it's the best cartoon ever.

Summary: must have DVD
Review: "How you even gonna ride a bike with no freakin' legs? You're gonna break the ass you don't have! Who even bothered to spawn you and why?" -Master Shake (to Meatwad in "Revenge of the Mooninites")

Since there is no Kids in the Hall DVD, you must buy this one. Alright, I would have bought it anyway even if there was a Kids in the Hall DVD.

This is the best 15 minute show on Cartoon Network with some of the best lines this side of the middle Simpsons seasons. It's a must have DVD...I just wish that the episode "Total Re-Carl" was on here.

Summary: Funniest show I've seen for years...
Review: This show is a classic. It's in the same, surreal, almost avant-garde humour vein as Monty Python, South Park, early Ren & Stimpy, etc. It approaches genius, honestly!

Every episode I've seen so far has been hilarious and beyond explainable and, has for me, become a bit of an addiction... Everything about this show is great from the bizarre intros featuring Dr. Weird to the fantastic starting and end credits sequences with Schooly D's excellent theme music... From the crazy, hilarious character voices to the whole look & feel of the show - it's just too brilliant for words!!

I didn't think in this day & age that someone could come up with anything so original and funny but I was wrong. In an age where Japanese anime is overly-popular to a nauseous point where western cartoons are sadly trying to copy them (Teen Titans for example) it's fantastic to see a show like ATHF being given the go-ahead.

My personal favourite characters in this show have to be Frylock, Master Shake and Carl the next-door neighbour. I haven't seen a show in a long-time which can crack me up so often. And I love the music bits from Schooly D too! Very funny and tongue-in-cheek...

In years to come, this show will rightly be regarded as a classic. I just hope it doesn't become so popular that it ends up losing its' original, creative spark like other animated shows have done in recent years... Without sounding too snobbish, I'd really like to see this show remain "underground" rather than hit the big-time because mass success often ends up killing the writing on these shows. That said, at only 11 minutes long, it does have the prospect of running for a few years. We need this show to last! We just don't need it becoming so popular that we end up getting sick of it (eg. South Park, The Simpsons...) That said, a movie surely should be in the works. I mean, the South Park movie was brilliant - I can see similar things happening with Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Anyway, sorry about going on so much about great this show is - but the people who make it deserve a lot of praise and respect. It's just so refreshingly different to anything else on TV...

Anyway, about the DVD: Even though it contains only 1 and a half(!) series (and a few extras), it is must-have for comedy fans. Buy it, and maybe they'll bring out the rest soon afterwards!

Summary: The other reviews are blasphemous.
Review: I hear the following things about ATHF a lot. The show is "confusing". It's "annoying". I'm sorry, you're just missing the entire point of the show. What is the point? Nothing. Just enjoy it and stop expecting it to mean anything, it's one of the best shows on TV today, far better than any reality show or American Idol ripoff.

Summary: The coolest, weirdest, funniest, TV show ever.
Review: Adult Swim.... the coolest programming ever. (as you can see, my name is vash, who any adult swim veterans definetley know [(>_<)]) So they decided to put together a new show called Aqua Teen Hunger Force. So, who cares? I DO!!! The first time this show came on it was the best non-anime show on adult swim... maybe even ever! Just right now head on over to adultswim.com and watch the clip they have prepared for you. I can almost promise that you will be looking at the schedule right after that to see when it comes on. BUY THIS DVD!!!

An odd thing about this show is... it has nothing to do with water. Actually when you think about it, it has nothing to do with anything in the title. No water (aqua), i highly doubt the main characters are teens (teen) and it isnt as much about a force (hunger force) as it is about a pack 'o fries, a shake, and a meatball haangin out. however weird the premise is, I can bet you will have fun watching the exploits and adventures of this hunger force!!!

Summary: I'm doing this harder than i have ever done before
Review: This show is TOP. I love the incoherence of it all, the whole show seems like one big dream or something, like it changes subjects like that. Master Shake has to be my favorite character of them all, he used to annoy me but i found out the annoyance was actually love. I just got the 2 thing mixed up, Meat wad is also great, with his innocent stupidness. And frylock is so cool; I like that poster in his room of himself x-ray-like shows you were his brains are and stuff; i swear they should sell that, And that jewel on his back is so mysterious :)

Whenever mastershake bites his lip, it makes him looks so funny i just can't stop laughing, the one with the moonanites rocks, burning carl's furniture for no particular reason.

Summary: The only happy meal you should ever buy...
Review: Full disclosure, I know one of the Aqua Teen actors but hey, If I didn't like the show, I wouldn't post this at all. ATHF is a brain-damaged, willfully primitive, and subversive show that has no redeeming quality whatsoever. It is also one of the funniest shows on tv. Take pop culture irony, rampant Freudian overtones (Meatwad, Master Shake and Frylock are quite apparently the id, ego, and super ego) and the kind of stream of conciousness dada that results from typing too much at 3 am on a caffeine buzz. In case you don't know already, the Aqua Teens are anthropomorphic fast food items that solve crimes. Or ignore them. Or forget about them in the pursuit of whatever sorry obsession passes their way, usually having to do with their slovenly neighbor Carl's above ground pool. Think of it as sort of a Scooby Doo for the ritalin generation.
