Summary: Great Product, PLUS No Audio Troubles (Anymore)!
Review: I, being a huge fan of the show, could hardly wait when I found out about ReBoot Season 4 coming to DVD. The story "Daemon Rising" was intriguing, but a bit short; this was probably due to the fact that Mainframe (the company) might have been constrained to only 4 episodes to introduce Daemon, her goals, and the climactic ending--with Hex saving the Net from the SuperVirus. "My Two Bobs" was well enough, having "normal" Bob trying to convice Mainframe, along with Glitch-Bob, that he was the real Bob and Glitch-Bob was not. Included in the turmoil was Dot's internal fight to choose her true love. The best--and worst, to some extent--part of "M2Bs" was the *SPOILER ALERT!* revealing of who was the real Bob. Glitch-Bob was the real deal, while "normal" Bob was actually Megabyte in disguise (which is discussed later in the movie). Unfortunately, Megabyte really didn't have much screen time--in his true form--only an episode and 1/2. This, and the cliffhanger ending, was also due to time constraints; to begin, go through, and wrap up the story in only 4 episodes.

When I first bought the DVD, one of the firsts that Anchor Bay produced, it did have audio problems--the entire Season 4 (audio and video) was slowed-down just enough to make it sound "weird." I, and aparently many others, brought this to AB's attention, and they promplty replaced the goofed DVD with another, one that was just fine. I believe that they have fixed the problem with their future disks, and the problem should no longer exist.

Summary: A Bang and a Whimper
Review: "This is the way the world ends," penned poet T.S. Eliot, "not with a bang but a whimper." The wonderful series that was ReBoot ends with both: the bang of the two full-length movies on this DVD, and the whimper from Frisket and ReBoot's gazillion fans. Why four stars? Five because it's ReBoot, and three because this DVD should be better than it is (averaging four stars). It looks like ReBoot has been listening to its critics, and that's a bad thing. After parodying every TV, movie and social situation, ReBoot is in danger of becoming a parody of itself.

As we all know, season three was "edgier" than seasons one and two and formed a continuous story. But after reading my ReBoot Guide, a fan e-mailed me asking how to get the first two seasons. Why? He felt the third season was too "edgy" but wanted his kid to see how great ReBoot was (when it ran on ABC). V4.0 (this stands for "version 4.0" but Amazon calls it "volume 4," confusing it with the fourth DVD of the third season) is "edgier" than the third season, as if someone has been reading bad graphic novels and got their puns from the ash can outside Comedy Central. Former ReBoot producer, Chris Brough, is not listed in the credits: perhaps his was the restraining hand that kept back such excesses. When it first appeared, ReBoot was widely hailed as fresh and new, and had nothing to prove. This ReBoot tries to prove it anyway, and it tries too hard. Oddly enough, ReBoot could still please everyone. Run these movies on Cartoon Network's Toonami or Adult Swim blocks, rerun the first two seasons on the teen or evening slots, and bring out the first two seasons on DVD. Critics au contraire, ReBoot has always had something most other CGI series don't--soul. It's always been about Dot, Bob, Enzo, and (whimper)--oh yeah--Frisket.

Summary: Audio issue requires a fix
Review: For both features of this double-sided disc, the sound is "dopplered down," giving all of the dialog a very low pitch. Have seen this expressed on a few other websites but no official word yet from Anchor Bay Entertainment. Not so much a big deal for folks watching this for the first time, but for people familiar with the Reboot series and characters . . . it's incredibly distracting. Rated down because of the defect. Overall, a great DVD for the price. A little sparse on the extras, but it's just nice to be able to get more of this series on DVD. I encourage anyone that has this same issue with their DVD to contact Anchor Bay Entertainment via their website and make them aware of the issue and hopefully prompt them to provide replacements.

Summary: So What's on Reboot Vol. 4?
Review: For those of you who may be wondering what's on this new Reboot release, I just received mine today -- and it's two feature length films which evidently constitute (alas) the final chapters available for our much-beloved residents of Mainframe. I'll admit I haven't yet watched them (give me time!) but I thought anyone who might be reluctant to order would want to know these are, in fact, new and previously unavailable, not just some kind of reissue of what you've already got on hand. Just from reading the box, I see that Bob and Dot are planning a wedding, and also there's some kind of virus problem with something called DAEMON.

Summary: Best Show Ever!!!!
Review: I highly recommended this dvd to any fan or fan of CGI shows. Despite the minor audio problem which is being fixed by Anchor Bay this show is so inivitive and unique it's still a great buy. I recieved official word saying that the company will recieve a new batch of correct dvd's in the middle of june, this problem is being fixed. So while i would recommended you wait for the new copies this is definatly a show that has everything, comedy, action, adventure, drama! Hopefully we will see the rest of the season released in the near future, hopefully by the same company in nice box sets!

Summary: Alphanumeric!
Review: I was quite pleased to find that this fourth season
was finally made available on DVD. So many of Reboot's
U.S. fans did not get to see it. For the sake of brevity,
I won't repeat the raves posted by the other reviewers,
but rather just post a quick note here to say that,
as far as I can tell, there is no problem with the audio.
I found it to be as crisp and clear as ever. Perhaps the
other folks neglected to set the audio option to 2-channel
stereo (since the default is Dolby 5)? It sounds simply stunning to me.

Bravo Mainframe!

Summary: Low-Tone Voices
Review: I'm not sure is it just my DVD or the whole production, but my DVD surround sound have very deep voices for the characters of the movie. Ex. Throughout the movie I realize that BOB/DOT/FONG etc. have unusual deeper voices compared to what CartoonNetwork shows. It's like somebody had turn down the key tone making all the characters have deeper voices.
I was happy and excited that the Series 4 finally came out but I'm very very... disappointed with the key tone of the movie.

Summary: The 4th and last Season
Review: Reboot fans rejoice! This is THE DVD. "Daemon Rising" and "My Two Bobs" are featured on this single two-sided DVD (180 minutes). Here are the pertinent facts.
1. Anchor Bay Entertainment is the producer of this Reboot DVD, replacing ADV from the previous releases of Reboot DVDs.
2. It is in 1:78:1 widescreen format enhanced for 16 x 9 TVs.
3. A character gallery is the only added feature.
4. "Daemon Rising" (90 minutes - (side 1)
5. "My Two Bobs" (90 mins - side 2)

These two feature length movies continue the story line after REBOOT - The Battle Comes Home. Thanks REBOOT for all the good times and memories. Fans, do you think we can get the original TV series on DVD? Lets try. Amazon.com...Do your thing.
