Summary: Great Movie!
Review: This movie has tons of good CG and that's what it's all about! I am a fan of the game and when this movie came out I saw it at least....well...I only saw it once...but it was still good!

The special features on this one is ok....but the movie is a event in itself. It is the first fully CG movie made and it does a good job of giving the life like qualities to the characters.

I recommend this movie to fans of the game and people who thought it looked cool when they saw the previews a while back....and for those people I only recommend a rental. Peace out folks!

Summary: Not a Game Fan, but the movie was great.
Review: I am finding more and more, that I am liking computer generated films or added animation. Not Kid's films but more a new age generation. This film has wide range of effects and a great veiw on the hisory of the Final fantasy series. The film is voiced well by great audio performances. Also the adventure, and action is good. Some points in the film almost make you feel that theres no way out of it.

Summary: It's all right...but it could use a heck of an improvment!
Review: "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within"
Rated PG-13 for sci-fi action violence
Featuring the voice talents of Meng-Na, Alec Baldwin, Donald Sutherland, James Woods, Ving Rhames, Peri Gilpin and Steve Suscemi
106 minutes
Absolutly nowere near the perfection giant that is "Final Fantasy" the games, this lowered my expectations of a good film a lot. It's not a bad movie, but like the title of the reveiw said, it could've been much more. A big suprise for a product from Square. The story did seem original to me, though, because I don't watch that many sci-fi movies. However, it's never as satisfying as you'd like it to be . The story is kind of too odd, Gaia and spirits have no place here and the thing would just be too confusing for people like my parents. The characters are very well designed though, and Aki (Meng-Na (Mulan, E.R.)) is THE hottest woman that I have ever seen in a movie next to Cameron Diaz (Shrek, There's Something About Mary). The movie overall was very well acted, especially General Hein (James Woods (Disney's Hercules, Stuart Little 2, John Q.)) and Dr. Sid (Donald Sutherland). However, like "Panic Room", this movie was more violent than I expected. A good part of the film is filled with seemingly endless (and mostly enessisary) violence. Overall, stick to the games of you're a fan of Squaresoft. As for everybody else, try it if you want to. As for me, I gotta play the games sometime and see what I'm missing.

Summary: Didn't notice any flaws.
Review: Maybe it's just me, but I really enjoyed this movie. I didn't notice any of the flaws and maybe it's because I am not a huge sci-fi nut that I thought the story was fairly original. I enjoyed it and have watched it atleast 4 times, which for someone who dosen't like sci-fi and likes tv even less..Is pretty good.

Summary: WHAT HAPPENED???
Review: I was so excited to hear that a FF-movie was being made back in 2001. Thinking that it would have an original storyline (just like the games) plenty of magic and power-ups, and a beautiful soundtrack. NOT! This makes the series look like [...] at some points! First, there was absolutely NO use of magic. Second, the story is stupid and very unoriginal! Third, the dialogue/script has got to be the worst I've seen in films. Finally, the music is terrible! I almost fell asleep at some points during the movie as well. If you are a fan of the FF series, skip this and stick to the games instead. You'll get MORE out of them compared to this HOLLYWOOD failure. I only gave it two stars becuase of the awesome realistic Special-FX. Everything else is pathetic. This was NO Final Fantasy related, it was a BIG JOKE!!!

Summary: You have never seen a movie look quite like this...
Review: First off--the visuals are out of this world. The entire movie is done on the computer, but it sure doesn't look like it! The people look so real it feels almost like you could reach out and touch them. Hair blows in the wind, cloth moves as it should, and the characters even blink!
The story is awesome too. I found the ending incredibly sad (and fitting.) My family has watched this movie with me, and they loved it. I think you will too.

Summary: needs a better script
Review: Ok if this was cartoon it would get 4 stars however, this flick tried to put itself in competition with a real movie by giving us these realistic textured effects therefore I am rating this as a sci fi movie. The special effects were unquestionably remarkable and the characters were one hair short of being viewed as real however, this movie suffered in giving us good suspense, drama, and diolague resulting in dull moments and a lack of excitement and anticipation. They need to perfect all those factors for a movie of this type to be considered a classic.

Summary: Good job with this animation
Review: You know, it won't matter if you like the story line or not (OK, the story is a little cheesey) because you'll absolutely love the animation!
I bet you will forget, at some point or another during the movie, that you're not looking at real actors and actresses!
Definitely worth watching but worth owning only if you're sci-fi/fantasy fan.

Summary: Wow
Review: I tend not to like movies that are based off of games, but I really liked this. I think what got me the most were the awesome graphics. I agree with other reviewers that it is pretty cliche, everyone dies to help the hero and heroin, and in the end the hero dies to save the herion.

I would say that this is a good movie if you like computer animation and want something more adult than Toy Story.

Summary: Doesnt really do the games justice
Review: Ive played Final Fantasy 7,8 and 10 and thought they were cool. Thinkin the movie was going to be like the games, i rented it. The earth being alive and having a spirit and all that stuff was totaly from final fantasy 7. The story was ok, but could have been WAY better. The alien ghost thing was good as well were the dream parts.it would have been better if there was like a maine bad guy who was doing all of the stuff to the earth and they had to fight him. And the Aki character had not emotion in her voice at times. YEt besides all that, the movie was good. It needs a 2nd one thats more like the FF games though.
