Rating: Summary: For the kids, but still a solid effort Review: "Barbie In The Nutcracker" is primarily for the kids. The music is fantastic and the computer-animated ballet sequences are great, but this is still a "Barbie" movie no matter how you look at it. I commend the "Barbie" people for using great production for the music and ballet, but the animation is a little bit square. Tim Curry is funny as the Mouse King, and the story did manage to hold my daughter's attention. She's two and one-half and didn't find the Mouse King too scary. None of the scenes in this flick are too scary as I recall. The other "Barbie" movies out there(a "Rapunzel" flick and "Swan Lake") have the same top-notch production that this movie has. They also share weak plots that won't hold an adult's attention.Keep in mind that this is strictly a children's movie. That's the only reason I'm giving it three stars. If I were a two or three year old girl, I'm sure I'd think this is the best movie ever.

Rating: Summary: who ever thot of this??? Review: A big, dumb, retarted person who is in da biggest mental hospital! dang, whoever that person is should be sent to a penitentiary. trust me, this movie smelled more bad than an ass filled with poop!
Rating: Summary: Better Than The Original Review: After I saw this movie I decided to read the original by E.T.A. Hoffman and for some reason didn't like it. I like the Barbie one a lot more. Even though it doesn't have as much dancing as it should, it is still really interesting. This movie had a lot more action and was just a lot cooler than what I thought it would be like and the original story. I recommend this movie to anyone, after all I loved it and I am 16. I also recommend Barbie as Rapunzel.
Rating: Summary: Really cute movie. Review: After purchasing this movie for my daughter for Christmas, we found it very well animated, and a great movie for kids of all ages. There is no violence, or anything that you wouldn't want your child to see. Well worth it.
Rating: Summary: Is it possible to rate this zero stars?... Review: After watching this movie (actually I watched 45 minutes of it then turned it off) I was purely disgusted and shocked. This is NOT the real Nutcracker. I was also insulted and embarassed too. When the rock monster came up my two three year old daughters screamed and ran under the covers. All in all buy the REAL Nutcracker.
Rating: Summary: Good Intro to Ballet Review: Although it is not a real "ballet" as a ballet teacher myself of 3 yr olds I find it a good intro to ballet for the very young. It does get them interested in classical music (also very good for brain development) and this will later get them excited to see the actual ballet live and bring much needed culture into children's lives! I recommend the video "Learn Nutcracker Ballet Dances with Me" as a good choice in addition to Barbie Nutcracker because it gets the kids up and dancing with the Sugar Plum Fairy and other characters from the Nutcracker. They learn dances from the Nutcracker so this way they really learn to enjoy classical music and the ballet.
Rating: Summary: A Classic ! Review: Although non-Barbie fans may find the animation a little cheesy, the overall production is well worth your money, especially if your children never tire of it. My 2 and 4 year olds always play with their dolls and recreate the scenes after each 'inspired' viewing. The story-within-a-story-within-a-story (yes, 3 meta-levels) also is a great way to introduce young viewers to this literary technique. I even use it to teach this genre in my senior high English class ... and they always want to watch the WHOLE DVD!
