Summary: A Heavenly Movie
Review: I think I first saw this film when I was about 7 or 8 years old. Just about a month ago I saw the sequel on television and then I suddenly remembered this animated masterpiece. Welp, a few clicks and the order was on its way... (I couldn't find this title from EU at all)As soon as the package arrived I ripped it open and put the disk into the player. Time passed and as I was watching the end credits I was feeling very impressed and good.

So waddaya know, waddaya say? This movie is a true classic if you ask me. The Characters and their voices in particular are very good. Both Dom DeLuise and Burt Reynolds have done a great job and therefore it's very enjoyable to watch Charlie's story go further. I think the songs fit in pretty nicely too -ie. "Soon You'll Come Home" is good so are the others. What deserves a true thumb-up, however, is the animation - it's very good looking and surely 'feeds the eyes'. Oh.. that means.. something.. *grin*

Summary: This one is a must for persons who like animal-centered movies, and for the rest I would also highly recommend it. And naturally for all ages - I, myself, am an 18-year old (perfectly normal) guy who likes this movie at least as much as Terminator II. So if you haven't seen "All Dogs Go To Heaven" yet now it's time fix that little problem.

By the way, Don Bluth, thank you!

Summary: An Astonishingly Evil Little Movie
Review: I used to watch this movie all the time as a little kid. Today,I watched this film in horror. I tried to remember if the film wasthat bad when I first saw it. The movie is so bizarrely sinister; Charlie is such a cruel character it isn't even funny. While the animation is quite dazzling, the images it displays are so negative, it's a wonder this is a kid's movie. The movie contains gambling, murder, death, smoking, and a truly upsetting nightmare sequence. When I wasn't cringing, I was bored. I had seen a website for the late child actress Judith Barsi (who voiced Anne Marie), and I learned what had happened to her shortly before this movie was released. If anything, this is the most depressingly sad movie ever conceived.

Summary: In a dog's eye, two big paws way up in the air.
Review: I'm not much of a critic but I'll say as much as I can without ruining the movie. Tell you the truth, I won't say much being a lot of people already told you the story line of the movie.

All I can say is, this is one movie you don't really want a little kid to see, alone. Plus, it gets into gang life, or what'll happen if you were to get into a gang and you were to do something to one of the members.

Another thing I will say, I will recommend that you should buy/rent it just to see for yourself. Reviews from movie watchers are better then those from movie critics.

Summary: Beneath the darkness, there is light.
Review: If I remember correctly, I saw the movie when it first came out on TV. I must've been about four years old at the time. It quickly became my favorite movie, especially since I've always been a dog fan.

Although I can understand why parents would forbid their children from watching this movie because of its themes -- gambling, smoking, gangs, guns, and death -- it never bothered me. Maybe I was too young to understand at the time. To this day, it doesn't bother me, and I'm a teenager. Like it or not, these things exist in the real world. Children need to be introduced to them sometime -- not so they can do these things, but so they can be aware. You would tell your kids not to smoke, do drugs, and play with guns, wouldn't you? You'd speak to them about these dangers at some point in their lives, wouldn't you? If you never did, do you think they would know any better? And besides, it's just a movie! If kids know that the characters are animated and that they shouldn't do a good lot of those things, what's the problem?

I watched the movie for its characters; mainly Charlie. I think a lot of people view him in such a negative way that it "blinds" them to what he really represents. In my opinion, he shows that even the selfish and greedy can turn over a new leaf.

Parents these days are very protective of their kids, and it can be a bad thing sometimes. Facing reality, I realize, can be tough. But, for your kids' safety, they need to know about these things so they don't ever do them.

This film is supposed to be for anyone.

"Conveying a strong message about the meaning of loyalty, honor, and friendship, All Dogs Go To Heaven is a must film for all children... and for those still young at heart."

And I treat it as such.

Summary: After viewing this movie, I tossed it in the garbage.
Review: Just because the cover illustration looks cute, it doesn't mean the movie is okay for children. I was shocked when I saw the movie, who ever heard of a children's video with characters who start the movie with murder, then move on to gambling, holding an orphan in a basement, lying and to top it all off, using a gun to shoot at characters? The story was bad, the music was bad, it's not for children!

Summary: 5 stars for the movie - not the disc
Review: Okay, I don't need to repeat what has already been said. It's not a movie for little kids, but it's a wonderful piece of animated art that is a refreshing new way of telling a story - I mean you can tell from beginning to end that this is not a Disney movie (not that Disney isn't good, I just think they shouldn't dominate the world of animated art alone). I was 8 when I first saw it and now I still love with all my heart.
So I was really happy to finally get it on dvd.
However, the format is 4:3 - no Widescreen (!) and there is no Dolby Digital 5.1 track on that disc. Am I too spoiled by watching Disney DVDs or does MGM just don't care about the movies they put on dvd? It's the same with The Secret of Nimh.
They should be ashamed to decrease the viewing pleasure of their customers like that! 0 stars for MGM

Summary: Superb movie in poor format
Review: Probably the best movie ever done by Don Bluth - enough said.

However... the publisher did not do justice to it; I am actually tempted to call their treatment of the video "mauling". This is the reason for 3 stars rating: not the film, but the disc quality. The compression artifacts are painfully visible in form of heavy random noise, which is a nuisance - and there are no English subtitles. (Saving space, MGM? Tsk.)

Summary: A Don Bluth classic
Review: The critic from Chicago is the reason why animation today are sugarcoated and redundant. One of the few animated movies today produced in the classical tradition. The background art is lush and elegant with breathtaking hand animation by Don Bluth's team. I highly recommend this film to anyone who's a TRUE animation lover. Now if only MGM produced a DVD edition to add to my library.

Summary: Nothing can't keep Charlie down!
Review: The first 'ADGTH' movie is'nt as good as the second, but Ann Marie, the singing alligator and Flo (She have deserved a bigger role) saves the movie, while Carface should have given it a better try as a true cartoon villian, he is nothing beside Red.
It's a great classic dog cartoon for those who loves old fashion animated cartoons.
