Description:
As some artists worked on both Sailor Moon and Wedding Peach, it's not surprising that these "magical girl" series are very similar. Ditsy junior high student Momoko gets drawn into the struggle between Aphrodite, who strives to preserve love, and the evil Reine Devilla, who tries to destroy it. When she witnesses a battle between Devilla's servant Pluie and Aphrodite's lieutenant Limone, Momoko transforms into the Love Angel Wedding Peach. Her best friends Yuri and Hinagiku become Angel Lily and Angel Daisy. Depending on the situation, the trio appear in bridal gowns or armor that resembles a schoolgirl's sailor suit. When they're not battling Devilla's plots, the girls moon over soccer star Kazuya, although Momoko and goalie Yousuke quickly begin a quarreling courtship. Wedding Peach will delight adolescent girls, but leave other viewers cold. (Rated 13 and older: cartoon violence, very mild risqué humor) --Charles Solomon
