Summary: The BEST. period.
Review: ... but haven't played any organized sports for almost a year. As you can imagine, I was starting to pudge out in a big way. My sister bought these Tae Bo tapes and was encouraging me to try them. I finally gave in and started doing them, and........WOW! I noticed a difference after the first week. I really owe Billy Blanks a lot. I'm not the type that thinks these tapes are super fun (insert gasps!), but it is sooooo worth it after. Even after you do one session, you swear you can feel a difference. No joke, you'll see inches disappear. Just get the tapes...I feel good about myself again...

Summary: Not worth the money
Review: When I belonged to a gym I loved the tae bo classes, but since I've moved I don't have a gym close and thought the Billy Blanks DVD pack would be perfect. I was very wrong. First there is no need to advertise it like they are giving you 4 videos because for me it is really one. I looked at the instructional once, did the beginner a couple of times, and felt the 8-min was a waste of 8 mintues! I only use the advanced and even that I usually dread doing it. For starters it is way too long and gets boring over time. Billy is totally unorganized, first he tells you to do 3 sets on one side and then makes you do 6 on the other (usually because he is spending the time talking to the camera and loses track of what is going on) It is obvious that this session was thrown together and no preperation time was put into it. As a result this is a poor quality work-out tape. I will never buy anymore tae bo tapes from Billy Blanks again just not worth the money

Summary: This is a great workout!
Review: I bought this DVD one year ago and it sat in my basement for awhile. After I joined a gym, in which I had terrible confrontation with the sales person for lying, I decided it was best to workout at home since I have a treadmill. But the treadmill started to get boring so I started doing Tae Bo instead. I did the instruction and I thought...Gee this is so hard and a little boring I don't think I'll stick to it... but I did. Once I moved to the basic workout, it was more enjoyable then the instruction chapter and I realized it works out all part of my body, that motivated me to stick to it. Now I am in the advanced level...Now that is a workout! You will sweat like crazy and you will feel those abs, butts, legs burning. Billy constant motivational speech make you push yourself harder and harder! I swear that after only a few weeks of doing Tae Bo 5 times a week, people started to tell me I look Thinner...and my clothes fit better...So if you are looking for a good workout that really motivate you to give your all, this is the one! Go for it, don't be intimidated...You will be so energize that you would want to put the tape back and start all over again!!!!!

Summary: an excellent workout
Review: These tapes are incredible!
Billy Blanks keeps you going, and you can do this in the privacy of your own home, whenever you want. On top of being convenient, it's also an excellent workout and targets every part of your body.
I highly recommend these tapes to anyone who is interested in a high energy workout at a low price.
The four pack of tapes is the best since you get the learning video, it teaches you how to do the steps correctly. After that, you work your way up to the Advanced tape. All the tapes are about 1 hour, if you buy the four pack, you get a 7 minute tape, which comes in handy when you're short on time.

Summary: 2 vidoes in the price of 4
Review: I have this se for quite some time and all I used so far was the basic part. Today was the first time I tried the advanced video so here is my rating to the series:
1. instructional - Its a waste of time unless you are new to workouts (then you better choose a beginer workout), Its not built as a workout at all. Moreover, what he teaches in the instructional part is not even similar to the advanced part.
2. basic - I like to use this video as one of my favorite 20 minutes workouts. I do them when I get up late and dont have time for a proper workout ..
You have 24 minutes of good aerobic workout, which different and energizing. the wormup and cool down are a bit short - but if youe are in good shape thats ok
3. advanced - the advanced is 2-3 levels hogher than the basic. Billy Blank could make us real happy with this set if he replaced the 8 minutes workout or the the introduction with an internediate level workout.
AS for the workout itself: the wormup [is] to fast & too short, there is no cool down. instead you have at the end of the tape 7 minutes of extra leg work and a stupid dance (as he sais - to finish an hour).
But the workout itself is 52 minutes of good workout: 30 minutes aerobics - some of the moves were hard to follow on my first time, and some were too fast , but I build up a good sweat, it was energizing and uplifting. I believe after a few times I can foollow all the moves. Than you have 20 minutes of strong floor workout , manly legs and abs.
all and all I will probably use this video from time to time in my daily routine, but will do only the 52 minutes and than a good strech and cool down without a video
bottom line: dont buy the set - take only the videos you need.

Summary: Not worth a penny
Review: I have gotten a number of Taebo and Billy Blanks workout videos. There is not one that is not rushed, unorganized or worth a dime. I have just gotten - as a gift his "Inspirational" workout video. I thought this would be a little slower, and a little more instructional. I was wrong! Other than a gospel group in the background and him praising God every now and then, the only inspiration I got was to get on line and write about it. Once again, he was too fast, not enough warm up, would work on one side and forget the other. He would say to do one thing and then do another. Even his assistant was laughing at is unstruction. You'd think they would have at least edited that. Other than a little sweat, I got nothing from this or any of his other workouts.

Review: I have been doing Taebo off and on for a couple of years. I used to go to Jazzercise 3 or 4 times a week, but found that, as I got older, I could not keep doing all of the lateral movements (side to side). We never really focussed on the stomach muscles except in floor routines. Billy Blanks has taken excercise to a whole new level with Taebo. I am able to do a no impact version which is good for me so I have found it very adaptable. It has made a major impact on my lower back problems. I have had sciatic nerve pain, tingling down my legs and in my heels. I would exercise (at Jazzercise) and have an injury, quit, go back, reinjure, etc. Don't get me wrong, I loved Jazzercise for the 20 years I did it. Its just not working any more. Taebo has limbered me up with the kicking (yes, this 50 year old kicks but only at about knee level, maybe a little higher) and all of my back discomfort is gone. Getting those stomach muscles strong has really paid off.

I must say that Taebo does have stretching adequate for the workout. I do my own additional stretching. In fact, I stretch several times during the day. What I really like about Taebo is his encouragement, his spirituality and focus. I like the reminder to focus. It truely helps me get through all the moves.

I love Taebo so much that I now also have all of the "Live" tapes.

Summary: Seems exciting, doesn't deliver
Review: While the idea of the workout is appealing, actually doing it isn't. I find that the stretching exercises beforehand are not enough. It's boring to sit in a stretch for a couple minutes and eats up tape time, so I suppose they don't bother with it. He also doesn't explain stretching technique, and even shows bouncing in a stretch, which can really hurt an out-of-shape person.

Then, getting into the workout, while it looks fun with several people doing it, just one person looks kind of lame at it. I'm a librarian, and these videos are constantly in demand by people who have never tried them, but they are always returned quickly because they end up not liking them. The workout focuses on a few muscle groups, but doesn't balance the body well. It just isn't the fun it looks like, and there are a lot of exercise videos that have developed a more physiologically intelligent and beneficial workout.

Summary: it got me sweating on the instructional :P
